They didn't when Wade was here before

LSU will always be a football school. If we're good at football, attendance won't be as high for basketball during football season.
Just the facts

I mean that's just false. That General Wade cutout in the student section was some random midweek November game against a scrub opponent. They showed out.

I would not be surprised if season tickets sell out

We'll see if the same pattern takes place where fans show up until we lose a few SEC games. He also didn't have to compete with women's basketball and baseball wasn't near as good under pulmonary.

Fans are fired up will absolutely show up in Nov and Dec. Half of my group chats are already talking about going to several games next year and we are 5 hours away.

The irony of you calling out people for not supporting a team early…

We could be playing an exhibition game against a middle school team this upcoming season the first game of the year and the line will be out the door

When Wade was here, the student section was far more full than the rest of the stadium for those games. One reason why was because Wade would frequently go door to door at Fraternity and Sorority houses to ask for them to show up at games. It worked.
Wade really made it a huge point of focus to cater to regular students and make them feel like they were a part of the team, and that he was a part of the campus community. I never heard about any other coaches doing that in my time around LSU.
There are other coaches who definitely loved LSU and embraced Baton Rouge, but Wade really showed a personal touch with regular students that made him extremely relatable and easy to root for. Students often feel like they’re at the very bottom of the University’s list of priorities. Wade made them feel like they were at the top.

I just requested season ticket information.
I am in NOLA, so going to every game will not happen, but I have not been to a game since he was fired and I will definitely go to multiple next year, so there's that.

I had season tickets when our General was here.
I cancelled them when they fired him. I think i might have gone to 2 or 3 McSuck games.
I have put in the request for season tickets this upcoming year and i'll be at the first game without a doubt.

Hopefully he’ll do his scheduling magic.

I live out of state and travel a lot for work. I've already blocked out the first weekend of November on my schedule to be in BR so I can be there for his first game back. For the first time in a long time, the PMAC is going to be electric and rocking.

There were 2-3 football games I was planning on coming back for.
Cancelling those plans and saving my time and energy to travel and watch the basketball team

I don't understand this post. I've been going to LSU games since the 80s, and we've always had that lull during the Christmas holidays -- ALWAYS -- when the students are gone, and people are focused on bowl games, holidays etc. We used to go every other year to the Alabama game when it was an early SEC scheduled game, and it was never full. We used to get tickets to see LSU play cream puffs even when Daddy Dale was coaching for cheap.
The fact that LSU sells 10k tickets but pulls in only 2500 fans for a game on Dec 27, 2026 against Mid State Tennessee Teacher's College will mean ASBOLUTELY nothing.
It would be great to be a 100% basketball school, but I'd much rather have a successful school than one that has 10k fans in Nov but finishes last in the SEC.

My family had season tickets from the time the PMAC opened until my dad could no longer navigate the stairs. My husband and I went occasionally until Wade was fired; haven't been back since. We will definitely start going again.
