What is the Mid-South? How does it differ from the rest of the South?

I've never heard of it before. Wiki defines it as a region including at minimum west Tennessee, north Mississippi, northeast Arkansas, far southern Missouri, and the Missouri Bootheel.

So, exactly is the Mid-South and what is life like there?

Combo of the midwest and the south. I can get boiled crawfish and fried pork tenderloin sandwiches.

Missouri is in the Mid-West???

So Arkansas sits directly below Missouri.

Should Arkansas be included in Mid-West???

Texas west of Missouri and Texas is in the South???

What were the pioneer settlers smoking ???

As many have alluded to here, it's the best rasslin' organization there ever was, run with an iron fist by "Cowboy" Bill Watts. Any rassler who was worth a shite worked here at some point in their career.

More white people. Less crime. Cold winter but very mild summers. I miss all of those things living in Texas

Yes, mostly.

Texas is also SOUTH of Missouri and situated on the Gulf. So it is part of the south, but not "Deep South".

to the OP - I see the Mid south as the hilly parts of the south and includes the Appalachian region, the Ozark region and the lands in between. Parts of MO, AR, MS, AL, GA the Carolinas and all of TN would be mid south.
