If Verge pulls this off just go ahead and build him a statue.

This is not Verges doing. If it were up to him. Wade would still be at NCST. This is Jeff Landry as much as yall don’t want to hear it.

Verge is a yes man, and will always do what the power players want. This is why he replaced Scott!

“Verge” isn’t going to pull this off. If it gets done it will be done by the one who writes a gigantic check - most likely the Louisiana guy who has a net worth of $22 billion.

Some of "You People" are incredibly naive.

Verge isn't doing jack. He's a "Figurehead" that's sitting back waiting to make public announcements as to what transpires.

It's all Co-AD's Rousse and Mallet doing the dirty work, maybe throw Landry an assist in there.

Many of you fartknockers like to spout off on here without actually knowing how things work now behind the scenes.

Rousse and Mallet are pulling the strings and Ausberry is the puppet that tells everybody what happens......

If that's the criteria, he should run for president.

Six months ago if someone had come to this board and said we would be canning Kelly, bringing in Liffin, then bringing Wade back home, there’s not a single one of us that wouldn’t have laughed them off the board. And yet, here we are…

Very much so...and I'm not a Landry fan.

Verge was installed as AD basically just to do the political factor's bidding. Woodward didn't. That's why he got booted.

Like it or not, I don't think some realize just how deep the political tentacles are in the athletic dept

I don't think Landry is calling the shots in the Wade re-hiring. He might be throwing some weight around to push it through, but I doubt he cares beyond the public appeal.

Rousse's hiring had nothing to do with Will Wade. He was hired because Landry wants to de-centralize LSU and boost the satellite campuses (and his familiarity with Mallett and co.). That's why they split the president and chancellor positions; with Dalton running the day-to-day and research priorities for LSU-BR and the med schools/Pennington and Rousse running everything else.

Its an icky thing to think about and will it combust one day 90s LSU style? Probably so. Hopefully not. But it’s hard to argue it wasn’t needed right now. Maybe the next govna wont be as grand standingly hands on but will at least see what happened to those who were hampering the programs and there will be competent coaches in place to keep things running smoothly. If the good old baws want to help they can fundraise.

I am glad Woodward is gone and JBE no longer controls the BOS. Having Kiffen and Wade in place is great

And if Wade doesn't meet everyone's expectations? The sequel is rarely as good as the original.

I suspect the same folks who hired Verge are the same ones who rehired Wade.
Sanity has returned to the LSU Athletic Dept.

Finally something to give Mac credit. He confirmed the insanity of the previous Admin.

The hires have to actually workout. If kiffin comes here and fricks up then no one will care that he was the fanbase's #1 choice.
