I really like Jared Isaacman.

Britain will certainly join us on the moon as well and put up the very first prayer rug in space

I really like everything Isaacman is doing and saying. It's unfortunate that in the likely event repubs lose the White House in '28, that the next Dem president is going to cut the funding and put us right back behind the 8-ball and give China first access to a permanent presence on the moon.

Me too. Remember when the neocon, dipshit GOPe old guard originally fricked NASA up because Isaacman used to be a Dem? I do. Luckily whomever needed it eventually got their heads out of their asses.

We would’ve had to go to the moon in the first place.

NASA will launch the Space Reactor-1 Freedom, the first nuclear powered interplanetary spacecraft, to Mars before the end of 2028, demonstrating advanced nuclear electric propulsion in deep space. Nuclear electric propulsion provides an extraordinary capability for efficient mass transport in deep space and enables high power missions beyond Jupiter where solar arrays are not effective.

Uh so in about 18 months? Sure, Jan.

Isaacman has been a breath of fresh air for NASA.
IMO, the heavy lifting before him are: 1) purging NASA of DEI and 2) avoiding international entanglement. Else, it's gonna be NATO goes to space.

Nice try NASA.

I don’t see how people living on the moon long-term is feasible. Shouldn’t we answer this question first before getting too far into this?

Yeah it is
But that extra time isn’t going to matter.

needs to be a priority - that crap was just getting started when I was there - the original workforce had an attitude like marines landing on Iwo Jima - take no prisoners = get the job done.
"don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good enough."
"it it is to be it is up to me"

No one is going to live there permanently. They're going to put permanent structures and astronauts and eventually commercial individuals will use it just like we use the space station with rotations of less than a year.
Space travel with the limitations we have is a game of interstellar hop scotch to get to anywhere we want to go with supply stops along the way.
Earth to the moon, the moon to mars, mars to wherever else we want to go.

Hate to be a bummer but there isn’t anywhere else to go. Not unless we can change the laws of physics.

We would be better off trying to figure out how to create a wormhole, or bend space, than spend hundreds of billions of dollars to reach a red rock that only grows potatoes.
Do we really need H3 enough to spend billions to retrieve it?
