Wasn't Jon Bell Edwards in charge?

The train to nowhere fraud in California is the champagne of beers.

The most corrupt state in the nation? The odds are pretty good.

Oddly, there may be less of this in Louisiana than other states. Louisiana citizens and local politicians have been stealing and defrauding for so many years in new and inventive ways that the feds have been on to them for a very long time. The DOJ/FBI probably have a dedicated airplane ready to go to Baton Rouge at all times when the corruption/graft bat signal goes up. As a result of various successful investigations and prosecutions, many potential fraudsters in Louisiana may be thinking twice about stealing from the citizenry there. Of course, I may be too idealistic about this.

It’s not that there’s less fraud, just that the fraud is fully legal.
They need to be investigated healthcare providers that have backroom deals with personal injury attorneys, and they need to investigate our nursing home system and charter school systems.

A close friend of mine retired from the FBI after serving in the New Orleans field office, where he worked on the public corruption squad. He once told me that in his view, “95% of elected and appointed officials in the state are breaking the law. They’re careful, though—they know we only have five years to catch them, build a case, and get the Attorney General to file charges. That makes it incredibly difficult.”
His suggestion was straightforward: extend the statute of limitations for elected and appointed officials from five years to fifteen.
Our criminals are far more sophisticated.

All 50 states, and probably the territories too, will get caught up in it if anyone cares to investigate.

There’s a bill in the legislature right now to extend it. I believe to 10.

Get the Attorney General to file charges.

They are professional, not pikers like in other states.

Check out New Jersey and Illinois. As bad as we are, we’re pikers by comparison. We’ve got nothing on them.

Generally conspiring goes hand in hand with larger fraud cases. Continued attempts in hiding conspiracy can extend cases to be considered

About 30 years too late.

Don't you dare associate my beer with that trash state.

We are going to be harder to catch we’ve been refining our craft for a long time, always learning, always evolving, and usually a step ahead of the curve. I mean we got to be good at something as a government
