I am sure they abuse these privileges. It pisses me off they get treated differently than the general public...it is a perk that shouldn't be allowed.

Good, and I hope they get stuck in a middle seat next to an aggressive armrest hog on one side and on the other side an obese person who snores and brings extremely smelly airport food on the plane.

Who's going to be the first DB politician to start putting sanctions on the airlines who follow suit...

But yeah, screw those politicians.... They need to be treated like the average person...

Quit allowing them to walk around the TSA lines. Get to the back and wait your turn.

They should be treated like everyone else anyway. Being in Congress isn’t supposed to be special status

I assume to some degree this is a little performative. I'd have to image almost all reps travel enough to have Diamond or Delta 360 status anyway. I don't know what other perks above and beyond that they get.

I am all for reps being normal citizens and not some privileged ruling class. They are supposed to be ordinary citizens like the rest of us. If the government shuts down, they shouldn't get paid either. But I would at least take not allowing them to blatantly insider trade as a starting point.

They absolutely do. I used to fly to DC frequently and have been on flights with a lot of elected officials and they typically act like assholes.

Part of the problem with Congress (and other government officials) today is the special treatment they get.

Everybody else struggling with TSA staffing issues? They can stand their arse in line like everybody else.

Government shut down? They can have their pay suspended like everybody else.

Want to cut government sponsored healthcare like Medicaid and Medicare? Cool. You can start with congress and their Cadillac health plans.

Probably the most egregious is Congress getting a fricking pension while everyone else's gets cut.

They've grown so out of touch with the regular Joe because of shite like this as well as the career-ization of being a Senator or Representative.

Perhaps a little known fact is that members of Congress routinely fly out of D.C. on Thursday nites & return to D.C. on Monday mornings. They supposedly "work" out of their home offices while home. Am curious as to how those flights are paid for

This needs to happen.

Sometimes I wish I worked for the government so I could frick over everyone and get to retire at 50 and get all these perks that the average American doesn't have.

Delta doing the right thing.

It is beyond stupid that these pompous mental midgets shut down the government
Please tell of any hard working
Business that just shuts down because the owners/officer can’t agree on some
Issue.
They don’t because they live in a real world and just make things happen

Our congress is so terrible they should honestly be treated like 2nd class citizens everywhere until they learn to do their job and represent the voters

TSA should claim the drug dog alerted them on every congressman they see.

Take to them to the side room with the big man and a rubber glove
