Haven’t really seen his name come up on this board. How would we feel getting Perkins in the 3rd round? I could see him being very useful as a 3rd down pash rusher and depth at linebacker. He’s an incredible athlete that I think we could move around a lot to create mismatches on defense.

Edit: just ran a 4.38 at LSU Pro Day

He's a good athlete, but he really doesn't have a position on the defensive side of the ball. Maybe could have been a running back or something. I sure wouldn't waste a third round Pick on him. Maybe if he's still there in the fifth, but somebody's gonna take a shot at him earlier than that.

I always thought he should have been an in the box type of safety. Too bad he didn’t spend the last 3 years working on that but don’t believe he’s a LB.

They look pretty good compared to Styles (in some cases better).

But straight stats don't always tell the story. I bring the case of Lofton to the table.

I have zero clue if Perkins is more like Lofton or more like Davis, but it's just something to consider.

Lofton? Curtis lofton?

I don’t think he’s like Davis, either. He’s more of a hybrid lb/s

Too light for EDGE

Not smooth or aware or laterally quick enough to be in the secondary

Not big or physical enough to be LB

And too many of examples of keeping himself out of the fray. Not exactly a pit bull out there.

Limited use in special teams.

He’s a situational pass rusher / spy. Would be great to have him in rounds 5-7.

He needs to go to a team who will coach/develop him, like the Rams or Ravens. He has potential to be an incredible 3rd safety/rover hybrid that's becoming so popular, like a poor man's Styles.

Pass. He’ll probably get drafted by the Eagles and be a stud in a few years

Had 7.5 sacks as a freshman, never got any higher than that. He also had more tackles as a freshman than he did in 2025.

This is the problem. He will likely just be a situational guy in the nfl. He can be pretty good in that role. Put him in big nickel or dime packages. Can blitz off the corner or fall back in a short zone on obvious passing downs. Would be a decent pick in the 4th round.

I meant more in whether the stats match the play, not who is he actually like. Lofton had stats that said he's good, but the play absolutely did not back that up. Davis had the stats and his play backed it up.

Agreed. He’s too small IMO to be an every down LBer. He’s basically a situational rusher. We have too many needs to take him as a luxury.

He went from a pass rusher to a star, which is usually a safety. Less pass rushing and more coverage. So yea, he never hit those numbers again

He may get drafted in a tough spot for us to acquire him. Most likely to go late 3rd to early/mid 4th. We draft early 3rd and late 4th. Not worth the 3rd and probably gone for our 4th's. He would be a nice pick in the 4th if he drops.

More like 5-6th
