Non stop bombing of their military targets and there are still more being targeted.

How many more can they possibly have?

Hormouz:

I mean it’s a limited coastal area of territory. Are you telling me that the U.S. and IDF just can’t just decimate everything from the coast of Iran on the Hormouz inland until the strikes on shipping stop?

How can speed boats even be allowed to exist in that area?

The strait is effectively closed by market forces due to the mere threat of military activity, which is mainly drones at this point. There is no physical closing of the strait. They don’t need mines or speedboats. It’s about insurers and risk mitigation

The people that own and insure the tankers aren't going to take the risk that something might happen. And the US can't 100%, without fail guarantee that the ships won't be hit.

That's the problem with this whole thing, and one many can't grasp. The bar for Iran "winning" is exceptionally low. They just have to remain even a fractional threat to completely grind the shipping and energy trade through the Strait to a halt.

Correct. Although it isnt closed, The threat of one drone or one mine is enough to drive uncertainty and screw shite up.

As to the other point, Iran is a massive country with lots of topography and militarily minded leadership. We could do this for another month around the clock and still not get close to getting everything.

We are striking from a distance. They have thousands of those little speed boats.

They have diverted ever bit of resources they have into building up their missiles. That have a shite ton. They have been preparing for war for decades. They have most of their missiles underground... deep under ground where our bombs can not reach.

We have hit site #X and then they start digging it out. Then we have to hit it again.

The state of the war is this. We bomb their missile cities fast enough so that we keep those missiles sealed underground. We bomb the IRGC enough so that they are degraded to the point where they can be overthrown.

We are getting closer.

iran is a huge mountainous country. they likely have a huge amount of weaponry stockpiled underground in the eastern part of the country which we really havent bombed yet. they can still manufacturer those cheap drones underground

What makes you think all the missile batteries are on the coast?

Yep, no insurance, no oil! IT is a huge problem to overcome.

I support 100% subduing Iran, but I do not think the administration calculated this blockade......gas prices freak people out, which will have an impact on total support of this effort.

The strait can be seen as a tactical objective. It’s easily argued they win if the regime survives.

All they have to do is survive and they will.

It is a shame, too. Much like the needed operation for your survival, the insurance company, not the doctor, decides what happens to protect its interests with no regard to the world economy.

We need the insurance companies to man up and sacrifice their profits for the world economy.

Unless the workers carried pieces/parts underground in lunch pales, we should have an idea where these things are located. I don't know how many MOABs we have but it might be time to make a few more and level a few of the mountainous parts of the country. Pretty desolate and not even sure it's conducive to goat herders.

We need to get us some of them drones. I think they are twenty grand apiece. Use a modified motorcycle engine. If we made them here it would be a million apiece. It is an opportunity for young entrepreneurs.

Where are these drone hidden? How can we not get to them?

OP is correct in asking...how in the F can we not lock down security on a waterway so limited in size

Also, is China gets 95% of their oil thru the strait, how are they not running out, if non is making it out

That size map is misleading as over half of the country is an empty desert. Look at the population density map, it's more like California in size when you control for the empty space.

If indeed the thread of "one" drone can keep the Hormuz straight "closed" for business, then the world's oil production/supply system of order needs to be reordered ASAP. We should also be able to find a way to de-link ourselves from the worldwide price of oil if we're independently sustained with our own oil production. I've got to think as well that the superb infiltration capability of IDF spies is diligently at work here to find the current command centers and will take them out shortly.
