What’s all the fuss about long lines?

I just took Amtrak from NYC to Washington DC and experienced no delays. I also didn’t have to deal with TSA either! What’s everyone talking about?

It only affects a few airports in the south where employees called out sick. Theu found an excuse to not go to work and took it

I drove from DFW to Monroe last week and it was a nightmare, people are opting out of flying.

They will get every dime paid when the Schumer Shutdown is over. After the last shutdown, some government employees who showed up for every shift even got a nice bonus on top of their pay. I understand that some may be doing other work instead of coming into their main job because they have bills to pay and food to buy, and don't have any savings for crap like this. But, sitting at home seems kinda dumb.

Driving would have been faster and cheaper even with today's gas prices.

Government shutdown means that TSA is not getting paid until the shutdown ends. Since they’re not getting paid until who knows when, many aren’t showing up for work. Those who do consistently show up will get bonuses and back pay after this is done, but it’s sorta hard to motivate people to show up, let alone replace people who don’t, when they’re not getting paid and have no clue when they might be. People have bills that won’t wait for an iou.
