Smoke went to 2 CWS in his first 4 seasons. Went 18-12 in his 4th year in the SEC, didn’t make Omaha, and 13-17 (same as Jay in 2024) and got fired.
People proclaim Smoke as the worst coach ever at LSU and in his first 4 seasons his worst record in SEC play was 18-12 & went to 2 CWS. Then in year 5, he went 13-17 (same as Jay in 2024) in SEC play and was promptly fired.
