Utah man arrested after a “child-like sex doll” found in a landfill near Cedar City, UT

IRON COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — An Iron County man has been arrested after a “child-like sex doll” found in a landfill was connected back to him.

According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Department (ICSD), they were dispatched to a landfill on March 14th. A landfill employee had been doing routine checks for unauthorized or hazardous materials when he found a box containing life size sex dolls.

The employee saw that one of the dolls appeared to be made to look like a juvenile, so he reported it to law enforcement. When ICSD Deputies arrived, they confirmed that the doll did look like a child.

Deputies also found a scratched-out shipping label but were able to re-trace the shipping information to an address in Cedar City. From there, they began to look into potential suspects registered at that address and identified Shane Larson as the sole resident of the property.

On Thursday, investigators served a search warrant for Larson’s residence and found over a dozen lifelike sex dolls. Five of those dolls, “were made to appear consistent with pre-pubescent juvenile females,” according to a press release from ICSD.

Investigators also seized multiple electronic devices.(ie computers)

Shane Larson was booked into the Iron County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility and is facing six counts of purchasing a child sex doll and six counts of possessing a child sex doll.
