Since we're talking about things that have changed for the worse.

I don't always use Ivory bar soap, but sometimes I buy it for nostalgia purposes. Reminds me of my grandparent's house back in the 70's. Picked some up recently and it's totally different. Doesn't feel the same, smell the same, or even float anymore. It's just like some other generic bar of soap. Extremely disappointing to see something 100+ years old get flushed down the shitter.

Had uncles that used to bathe in the bayou at their camp. They used ivory soap bc it would float.

I think that's Irish Spring's claim to fame...

You sure it doesn’t float? Ivory is all my dad used when I was growing up. But the only time I use it as an adult is when my buddies and I go canoeing/camping because it floats.

You think I'm a damn fool? I knew I was leaving myself open for box jokes

But I'm in a generous mood

Ivory soap is actually terrible. It once left me so uncomfortably dry I had to use my wife’s moisturizing lotion afterwards

I think the change occurred relatively recently because the last time I purchased some it was normal. I Googled to see what the story was and it seems other people are saying the same thing.

I remember Ivory’s best quality was floating so you could easily take a bath in the lake

We used ivory on the first couple I’m pretty sure.

I know last time I did the Buffalo it was IS.

It's not something I would use every day. It always leaves a terrible ring in the sink or tub. Still, the scent and texture were relaxing. Brought me back to simpler times.
