Meddle is a better album than Dark Side.

Wish You Were Here is better than both of them.

Hard to rate any albums above The Wall, Darkside of the Moon, & Wish You Were Here. For me Division Bell would probably be #4 & Meddle #5.
However, whichever of those 5 albums is spinning is my favorite in that moment.

Right up there with "fight me" or "and it's not even close".

I like Meddle and all that. I recognize that was a transition from the PF that was (mainly the one set by Syd and then Roger was finding his way) and the PF of the stratospheric run from DSOTM to The Wall. I also would agree with the proposition that it is criminally underrated.

Ok, maaybe not the Final Cut since that still had roger and felt floyd-like. But definitely TFC and on just doesn't really hit the same, IMO.

As someone who thinks Roger is a brilliant writer but a major a-hole, I always chuckle that Rick was the only one to make money off "The Wall" shows, especially after he got the shaft from Waters.

TFC definitely suffers from a lack of Rick Wright and a relative lack of David Gilmour (who, at that point, had just taken a "let's get this over with" attitude).

It's not a bad album, but it takes a second or third listen to get into it. After all, it was "spare bricks".
