Let's say Germany suddenly had a dictatorial regime take power who began building nukes and militarizing at a rapid rate. Let's say they really hated France and the dictator went out in public and said "Death to France" with his Parliament chanting along with him. Let's say Germany began shooting rockets into French cities every so often, sending suicide bombers into Paris, and funding terrorist groups in Switzerland and Austria (who also attacked France). Let's say France begged us to help them eliminate this regime.

Would we have a cacophony of people saying "The French, bro, they control Trump and have dragged us once again into a war." Or "Those French bankers control the world" or "That French lobby in Washington is too strong." Would we have a bunch of Hollywood people proclaiming "France is on stolen land" and "Stop the genocide of the German people?"

Just asking.

Germany will have a dictatorship when radical Islam takes over, so your scenario is not a hypothetical.

God help us.

The hypocrisy on this issue runs both ways.

What frustrates me is how people talk about this like it started a few months ago. The current situation is the result of years of escalation, proxy conflict, and failed diplomacy between Israel, Iran, and the US.

Netanyahu has been framing Iran as an existential threat for decades and pushing for confrontation long before March of this year. Yet we were actually making progress with Iran right up until he was allowed to come and cry to US Congress.

The tone changed completely after Donald made that stupid post drawing a redline and promising the Iranian people we would save them. Prior to that, we had been told we had "completely obliterated" Iran's nuclear capability and they would be set back years.

Honestly, I didn't expect the nuclear angle to be such an easy sale after all the cheerleading and chest thumping when we carried out a bombing campaign "like nothing the world had ever seen".

They’ll have to wait for some podcaster to tell them how to respond. These people are no different than the lefty loons.

That crowd is just a bunch of knuckle-dragging Jew-haters who have likely never even known a Jew in real life…

People who are now unashamedly cheerleading for the current military operation in Iran are some of the same people who were firmly saying no more foreign entanglements prior to latest military operation against Iran. I think there were a lot of people on this forum who have made comments in the past about never being duped into another ME war like we were duped with the "weapons of mass destruction" BS leading up to the invasion of Iraq

This isn't to say Trump didn't do what he thought was best based on the available intelligence on Iran. I'm just saying don't be dumbfounded if a few months from now things are not quite the way they were sold or told to the American people. I just hope and pray this latest military operation works out great for the Persian people who seek freedom and for the American people. How great of a 250th US birthday party on July 4, 2026 would it be if the Islamic Regime is no more and the Persian people are celebrating their freedom along with their liberators in the US. Let's all hope and pray that's what happens.

People seriously need to research Iran or just talk to some Persians. These are exactly the people we want to liberate. They will build statues of Don.

It sounds like Iran looked US diplomats right in the eye and said they were 11 days from having nuclear weapons.

This has been everyone’s red line for years. Not sure why this gets glossed over.

None of this is would be our immediate concern, neither is Iran, Israel, Iraq, or any other country in the M.E.

SOME Persians are.

They’re a deeply divided nation with one faction wanting a western style country and a larger group wanting a Shia theocracy as we see now.

I don’t believe they’re actually 90% Shia as is quoted but it’s likely a majority.

Either way it’s like saying America is all Portland or Florida, it’s actually both and that makes it complicated because the two factions are completely ideologically opposed and one can’t rule without oppressing the other.
