LSU went 19-11 in conference play last year. That isn’t great. It’s good. But we lost just two postseason games last year, one in the SEC tournament. Its a matter of when you will play best

Agreed not panicking yet. Lets see these next 2 weekend series before we write the team off. One thing for certain we have the best coaching staff in the game. If anyone can get the most out of his team it's Jay. Team just has to come together.

I appreciate the positivity, and I love LSU baseball, BUT..last year we had two hammers for starting pitchers, and this year we do not. Plus the fact our catchers can’t catch and unless the ball hits York square in the chest, he cannot catch either. Second base is abysmal black hole. We were definitely spoiled with Dugas and Dickinson. We crapped on Braswell’s batting, but he was one of the best we ever had in the field. Third base appears to be a revolving door as well.
I’m not crapping on the team, we just have ALOT going on that cannot just be overlooked.
Starting pitching could get better.
The hitting could get more consistent.
With those we have hope.
Fielding I just don’t know if there is a magic switch that makes York suddenly be able to snatch a ball in the dirt, or makes our catchers be able to not only block one in the dirt, but simply catch the damn baseball. Hope I’m wrong

Isn't it? It's at least very good

How many teams have done better in SEC Play? Let's look back at how many SEC teams had more than 19 conference wins

2015 - 2 (LSU - 21-9) Hosted regional and super

2016 - 3 (LSU - 19-11) Hosted regional and super

2017 - 2 (LSU - 21-9) Hosted regional and super

2018 - 1 (LSU - 17-13) Played in Corvallis regional

2019 - 4 (LSU - 15-15) Hosted regional and super

2021 - 3 (LSU - 17-13) Played in Eugene regional and Knoxville super

2022 - 1 (LSU - 17-13) Played in Hattiesburg Regional

2023 - 2 (LSU - 19-10) Hosted regional and super

2024 - 3 (LSU - 13-17) Played in the Chapel Hill regional

2025 - 2 (LSU - 19-11) Hosted regional and super

If this team gets to 19-11 or better, it will be a great year, IMO.

Not going to say last year was luck, but last year was pretty damn lucky. Nothing like the team with Skenes where you just expected to win.

I’m getting 2022 Ole Miss Rebels vibe from this team…but more talented.

Y’all have short memories. Skenes was an automatic W, but after that it was a toss up pitching-wise until Floyd flipped a switch in the postseason. The offense hid a lot of the pitching staffs’ warts in the regular season, and sometimes couldn’t even do that. That Mississippi state Sunday game had people ready to fire JJ on the spot

LSU didn’t start sec play with 2 good starting pitchers. Eyanson struggled for a bit before turning the corner in April and Shores was eventually moved back to the pen because he continued to struggle. I’m much more concerned with the defensive play than I am with pitching.

We currently rank last in the SEC in both, so I’d say both are a concern

people always make that mistake and you would think the “greatest college baseball fans” would know better. A 19-11 record for LSU is practically a guaranteed national seed.

Indeed. Anyone saying 19 SEC wins is "good but not great" is ignoring history.

19-11 in the sec now a days is pretty dang good. Puts you top 5 in the country most likely. Better than just good.

16-14 or 15-15 and lsu is hosting a regional but probably not a super.

LSU was also 20-1 at this point in the season.

We are 14-7 this year.

This team is no where near as talented or good as last years team. We had a sure fire Ace in Anderson and an excellent #2 starter in Eyanson. We have no Ace this year.
