Of all the hills to die on regarding immigration, giving foreign "asylum seekers" with no familiarity of the travel infrastructure and a language barrier, a license to operate an 80k lb vehicle seems like the last point I would try to make.

I'm quite happy either way. I receive deliveries every week and for the last few years almost every driver speaks ZERO English. And the Arabs driving 20 tons out on the interstates have no common courtesy whatsoever.
