Anyone else enjoy watching yourself on their home security cameras?

It feels like I'm observing another version of me in a different universe.

You are strange.

That is all.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I am one of the few people who have held out to not get home security cameras. My 81 year old neighbor has them all over his house. I don't like the idea that there are cameras every where, although every house around me has security cameras.

I just think its weird that people are being videoed everywhere and I am doing my part to not contribute to our surveillance state.

When you see yourself doing those things on camera, they are still wrong.

I can’t stand to hear my own voice.

It is odd.

Sometimes I see the "entity" on the recorders sort of looking at the cameras. Like it is saying "I know you are there".

Every time I hear my own voice, I think "What mountain in Tennessee did that voice come from?"

Generally, no. But one time my wife picked up a football that was in the yard and tossed it to me, and I tipped it up and then caught it one hand. When, I realized it was on camera, it was like my first and only highlight.

I almost never look at the video feeds on my cameras, let alone watching clips of myself.

There are a few times where they have been perfectly placed to catch something, and I have been very glad to have that video record forever:
-When my wife and I were on the porch watching a storm coming in a few years ago and one of the street trees across the road fell over right as we were walking inside.

-Last year one of the guys doing our gutter and window cleaning fell off his ladder directly in front of the camera on the back of our house. Luckily, he was a-okay aside from the embarrassment, and there was no lawsuit.

I like to tell my wife "there was a jacked dude walking across the yard" and show her. She's nice so she plays along and says wow that dude works out or something like that.

Especially when I saw the video of myself tripping and falling in the flower bed.

I don't like it at all. Our cameras are perched rather high and they make me acutely aware of the fact that I am damned near bald on top! I might have about a hundred hairs left on top of my head. I'd go ahead and shave my scalp bald if I didn't fear looking like I'd just walked out of a concentration camp.

I was going to say, "I, too, enjoy watching you on your security cameras."

Then, I saw......

I feel like I think and speak in a relatively educated southerner’s tone, but when I hear my voice it’s quite obvious that I am a descendant of nomadic hicks from the Delta that lived in the levee camps.
