A signature series from Amazon Prime is now on Netflix 10 years later. Fantastic series until the finale, very disappointing in how it wrapped up. If you can call it that..
* Weird that there is such hate for such a great series.

The book was the same way.

Not an uncommon trend I’ve seen. Start off with a fantastic premise, but cannot land the plane for a satisfying wrapup.
Lost.
Game of Thrones.
Heroes. (But I think the writers strike screwed that one up so I can’t remember exactly what happened.)

Did the book receive backlash for making Nazi-occupied eastern United States seem like a decent place to live, outside of burning the infirm and banning certain people?

Loved this show. Randomly found it during Covid lockdown.

I don't remember. It's been 10+ years since I've read the book.

I’ve been wanting to back to this and Hunters.

Same, man did it scratch an itch. Wife loved it as well, which is rare for this type of show.
I didn't hate the ending as some have. Not saying it is a masterpiece or anything, but it didn't bother me.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember S1 being OK, S2 being a banger, S3 being OK, then pretty much all of S4 being pretty terrible (not just the ending).

The first three seasons were great so I didn't care they wouldn't be able to land the plane. It was obvious the last two seasons that they were told here less money and you need to wrap it up.

Just an awful last four episodes or so, but otherwise a good show

I enjoyed the first couple seasons, but got bored with it and didn't finish

I hated this show. My ex and I started it bc some friends of ours suggested bc they loved it. We watched half the first season. The story was progressing so slow that we basically lost interest in it. It became more background noise as we did work on other things.

Love the book & loved the show.
So many visceral images/scenes.
This scene from S3 still makes me want to vomit.

Loved the first two season, then it became a struggle to finish it.

I think Rufus Sewell is a great actor, but yeah, the wrap-up was pretty bung (no fault of his).

admittedly he didn't have much competition (aside from a few minutes of Stephen Root)

Oh, he's really good in roles playing King Charles II, Alexander Hamilton, and Lord Melbourne in other television series.

The idea that much of the same cultural tides would continues on, underground as it were, after the Alliance fell and the USA was overrun by Axis powers comes off as lazy. Even if that's 'book accurate', there's no way to track how Marxist views would survive in a full on NAZI environment. But I guess the show had to come up with some way forward.
