First Mow/Cut - Mowing Season

I scalped my zoysia yard last week. It’s greening up quickly.

Now that we got some rain my grass has blown up

I’m trying to bring mine back to life after spurge and overzealous weed killer spray essentially left dead zones in my lawn

Last week to knock it down... scalping/dethatching this weekend

Fighting a big clover problem this year so I gotta kill that off... then next week, lay down some milo and bifen to get the party started

Cutting mine Friday. Neighbors all cut a month ago.

I do not ever cut before Easter. The day after Easter, I always hit the yard with Roundup and cut it before the Roundup dries. I do not have to mow until the following day after Easter.

We do paint it green about a week later. Some of the biggest fights I have had with my HOA is over the shades of green we select.



I think I will go with a darker green this year. My t-shirt matched last years grass color beautifully.
