Money in this sport is so dumb.

I’m ignorant here, how does that $99 mil in dead money affect what they owe him? They still owe him that?

DolphinDaddy will be in shambles when he wakes up.

It is money already allocated for the season's payroll and counts against the salary cap.

Dude's brain has to be mush by now
Tua will be Floyd Wetherton in a few years

$15m more than what Russell Wilson’s dead money was.

Dude gonna get paid 50+ mill this year to be a backup. Tua laughing on his way out the door.

Concussion settlement check?
quote:
Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins quarterback, has a notable concussion history, suffering three diagnosed concussions during his NFL career, particularly in the 2022 and 2024 seasons.
These incidents have raised significant concerns about his long-term health and led to changes in the NFL's concussion protocols.

No, his 2026 salary is guaranteed.
For that kind of money, I’m going to the house and taking up a new hobby.

Dude needs to fight his way to Minnesota or San Francisco to get that professional QB rehabilitation.

I don’t understand the NFL’s convoluted salary system, but what benefit do they have in cutting him if his salary in 2026 is guaranteed? I guess maybe some of his 2027 would become guaranteed if he was on the roster on X date?

Remember when bama fans tried to convince us he was better than Burrow and would have a better career?

Yeah I don’t understand it either. My initial assumption is that the Dolphins can just move on to the new guy. I haven’t heard that Tua is a bad locker room guy, but that kind of money walking around with a clipboard and a ball cap on would be a distraction.

Dude needs to retire while he still has a working body. He's super talented but made of glass.

Will there be a next team? With his concussion history, would you want to be the team that doesn't defend hm enough and pushes him into his last concussion?
With the receipt of this kind of money, the lawsuits from his sentient family for loss wages would be staggering.

Thats the Dolphins being stupid.
They gave Tua $250 million after his 2023 season, while the Ravens played hardball with 2x MVP Lamar and franchise tagged him
