When I was 20, I did some roofing work in the middle of the summer in Louisiana.
Being on that unbearably hot roof was what I think hell must be like
The a-hole never paid me

I signed up for my company's 401k, but I don't think I can run that far.

Had a boss that thought his work ethics were for everyone. Like forgetting the clock and just work into the night and sleep on a couch.

Forget your personal life and kids. Oh it’s 6:00 pm? Get back to work. Don’t have activities outside work. And he was a devout Catholic that hoodwinked the rest of the real world.

I built a multimillion dollar business from the ground up on a handshake because I was naive enough to believe that someone this high up in their church and ministries and do gooder shite wasn't actually a criminal and a liar.

Lesson learned early but too late. Thought I was a partner because that's what we agreed to. When it starts moving past seven figures though, fake morality breaks every time.

Yea screw that. I never got quite that bad, but I used to voluntarily put in extra hours nearly every week when I was younger and naive. It took a bit, but I learned eventually that all that does is spike your anxiety. You don't really get recognition for it, and sometimes it almost comes to be expected.

My offtime is now my time unless the building is literally burning down, some other all hands emergency, or the off hours work is planned well in advance.

Sounds exactly like a boss I had years ago and he'd also make you chase your check.

Got canned after three months over some extremely minute shite that didn’t make any sense. Two months later it did though when it turns out the CEO was caught embezzling shite and went to jail.

I’d also like to thank Jim Cramer when he announced the month before I got canned that this company was the stock to buy, and per always, he tanked the stock.

One of the best things that’s ever happened to me to be honest.

Worked on a $3 million project for a school in the Mobile area and the owner of my company decided he was entitled to a one third share of my commission because the VP of the school and he were buddies and had done business together at a few other places before.

Shitty motherfricker he was...

How about working for a very large company for 15 years, being passed over for leading a team that was based on 3 continents (for someone that was not qualified whatsoever) and then being fired (along with 8 others) for not bending the knee and doing terrible things like pointing out that the company was purchasing product that was produced with slave labor (per an exposé in the L.A. Times)? We were instructed to go to a meeting at a holiday inn by the airport. Mine was at 8:30am. After I was fired I went back to the office to beat the hell out of the prick that got the position I mentioned earlier. They had a security team on site. So I was robbed of that moment.

frick Loblaw Companies Limited and frick Canada.

I had to install and implement a system that tracked the exact time that was spent rebuilding products like turbos, pumps and injectors. The technicians were not pleased with me.

Had a menial job in college and almost got fired for leaving the door unlocked overnight. Surveillance video showed the culprit was actually a member of the executive team and the whole matter was abruptly dropped.

Made a company about 14 million over ten years. Fired because I was the highest paid person in my position.

I was at a Fortune 500, 66% of my direct reports (25% of the whole company) were laid off and then I was put on a PIP because my team was “under performing”

I opted to take the severance and separation instead of completing the PIP.

During the flood of 2016 we were out of work for 3-4 weeks. A lot of employees were going in on their own time during that 3-4 weeks and working to get things ready for the return. We were told to keep track of our hours and submit them. Our hours were submitted to FEMA for reimbursement for our organization and not us.
