You’re trying really hard to make this a thing.

I’m just a dude posting on the internet. I didn’t start the war but I wholeheartedly support it.

Because that's what it was called before and that is what it is.

You see, because the only real & sole purpose of the United States military is to fight & win these little things we call WARS.

It helps Trump feed the macho image he wants to project. It’s almost childish.

This board has made it clear that we don’t fight wars.

The War Department existed for 158 years, from August 7, 1789, to September 18, 1947,[1] when, under the National Security Act of 1947, it split into the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force (which, together with the Department of the Navy, formed the National Military Establishment). In 1949, the National Military Establishment was renamed the Department of Defense.

Pussy Democrats renamed the War Department. Trump changed it back.

The administration restored it to its proper name given it by George Washington.

Sounds cooler.

If that's the only reason, then that's fine with me...

So the first session of Congress under president Washington was being childish when they first named it the Department of War?

OP is desperate in his attempt at gotcha moments because he can’t understand that a congressional term doesn’t have the same definition as a dictionary term.

There are a lot of public statements made about why he did the rebrand. Personally? I think Trump is testing executive power boundaries.
