Turkey was a legit ally for many years with extreme strategic importance. They were westernized by middle eastern standards and were bulwark against radical islam
The past 20 years or so with Erdogan have changed things

Persians or Islamic Jihadists?

One huge irony is that the Israelites were held in slavery in Babylon (Iraq). They were freed by Cyrus the Great of Persia.
Now, 2563 years later the Israelis can return the favor.
Ancient history lives again.

It’s about time! Jews couldn’t think of any more excuses.
That’s a joke.

Greece to Cyprus? That won’t burn a lot of fuel.
Cyprus has a pretty awesome British military presence that my son’s unit were guests of. Good folks.

The probability of Turkey being the next military conflict zone (careful here to not use the word "war") is pretty high. This is based on comments from high ranking officials in the Israeli government.

If Israel attacks Turkey then Article 5 is triggered and Israel would have to fight all of NATO.
The first move in the war would be the surrender of France.

We had an exchange student when I was growing up from Cyprus. I had the opportunity to spend a summer there when I was a teenager with his family. There is a lot of history in Cyprus when it comes to Israel, UK, Turkey, and others in that region. The Turks invaded Cyprus in the early 1970’s and took the northern half of the island. The Greek Cypriots were forcibly removed, and ended up living in refugee housing in the southern part of the island. They lost everything. When I was there in the 90’s you didn’t even speak about the Turks, or Muslims in general. BTW, all Cypriots spend a minimum of 2 years in the military. Great people, and I hope to return some day with my family to show what a wonderful place it is.
