Give me Lemon over Tate honestly.

He ran a 4.54 40. He os not worth pick 8
I'd rather have Love, and I dont believe in drafting rb's at 8

Tate ran a 4.59 40. That’s too slow to be a WR1.

I’ve moved on from getting a WR at 8. This draft is deep at receiver and the top guys (like Tate), don’t seem special.

michael thomas was a 4.57 40 and remember we said he was slow too (that he was).
The difference is, CGM was 6'3" and 212lbs with 10 1/2" hands
Tate is 6'2" and 192lbs with 10 1/4" hands

That’s been my thought all along. There will be some guy like an Amon-ra St. Brown, Puca, or someone that gets drafted later that will be special. But there’s no Jamar Chase, Malik Nabers or CeeDee Lamb WR that should be a top-10 type pick. If a guy like Boston, D. Burks, CJ Daniels, M. Fields, etc falls to you in a later round, then that’s a great addition at a good value. No need to reach at 1.8.

That's all to say - if he's a good route runner, good change of direction, and good hands - he will be easily a #1.

Nice. 6’2” 190lbs and gain about 10lbs, he’s going to be good. I’d love for another OSU guy to be a Saint. Question is, will he be there at 8?

Tee Higgins 4.54
Higgins was actually my comp for him. Tate’s play style isn’t anything like the other guys you listed.
A Higgins-type player isn’t worth the 8th pick, especially in a WR class like this one.

I agree I have been saying that he reminds me of a smaller Tee Higgins. I think Tate will be a very good but not great wide receiver. Nothing wrong with his 40 and it was as expected. Just nothing screams #8 overall pick. There will be much more talented players still on the board. The most talented receiver in the draft by far is Tyson. He has elite traits and superstar potential. His burst and separation skills are incredible. Durability is his biggest concern and is hurting his draft stock.

Nothing about Tate screams 1st round. Guys more talented than him and more athletic than him were 2nd round picks. Hes slosh for his size. Would be a horrible pick @8. Tyson is a much better prospect but you can’t touch him either

Lemon is my #1 and Tate #2. If Tyson didn’t have injury concerns he’d easily be my #2 or even #1. Those injuries bug me big time.

Shefter says some teams have Tate at 4.45-4.47. Kind of defeats the purpose of a combine but it seems they won’t be scared by his time

I’m not sure this makes any sense. How does a team have a different time than an official time?
