Surely Right ? Who is going to run the country ? These are always complex issues.Tons of variables, border countries issues, religious sects. etc. Is the bad leader you know always better than the future bad leader that you dont ?

Iran is much more stable than somewhere like Iraq or Afghanistan. Democracy can happen there.

He might even have like 60% support. The opposition gal is almost a Marxist, so I prefer the son.

Despite my opposition to these actions, this is 100% true imo.

Iran is a lot more Westernized and civilized than places like Afghanistan and Iraq. I don’t think a lot of people realize that

Nah man we have no precedent for something like this.

This has never happened to a country that starts with an Ir in its name.

Nothing to go off of.

No

This is one of those rare cases; the worst case scenario WAS in place. Anything that comes out of the ashes would be better, and some would be much better.

Pure speculation, but it would be reasonable to guess that Israel, the US, and other important ME countries have had this discussion and have some strategy as to best to fill that void.

Always next man up, this time around they may need to go deep into the bench. Until internal citizens determine their future status quo will come

1979.

Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi abdicated in 1979 and an Islamic republic was installed, led by the infamous butcher Khomeini.

The crown prince is the shah's son. Educated and exiled in the west.

No. Iran has a strong opposition leader with actual leadership skills who commands the trust of the Iranian people.

Don't be so sure. You have 47 years of score settling. Plus I don't think it wise to place Pahlavi in power. He's essentially an American now after almost 50 years here.

There's one place we did not bomb at least according to reports is Mashad in NE Iran near the border with Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. That's Khamenei's hometown and Iran's 2nd largest city. If there is no clear confirmation of his death, I'd be looking for him there. It's isolated and too far for Israelis to hit, but not US planes

If you don't control the ground you won't control the country....especially a place like Iran with lots of mountains
