I took 15 swings with this club at the sim last night. For the sake of simplicity, I'm including total distance only and I haven't removed any of the shanks or tops - they are listed in descending order. Obviously....I need some tighter dispersion.

1. What would you keep, what would you throw out?

2. If it was you, what yardage would you consider to be your yardage for this club?

3. Bonus points - guess the club (early/mid 40's, started playing 18 months ago).

222.70
217.13
216.68
214.02
212.64
209.15
206.00
202.80
201.92
201.16
186.95
182.91
164.87
160.74
85.26

Honestly these days - depending on the sim - you should get a report - if you look at the shallowing thread you can see how my daughter is in the midst of a full swing overhaul and she did like 840 swings on our Trackman from December to February- Chat GPT actually does an amazing job of analyzing each session and identifying trends and areas of improvement etc… I’m testing both chart and grok for good analysis and I find grok is more harsh yet accurate and Chat tends to be slightly more optimistic and a bit on the nicer side

I’d recommend putting each report here

I'd throw out the top and bottom 3, then take an average. Your distance for this club would be 202 yards.

I'm guessing 7 wood.

Throw out the top 7 and bottom 7 and take the middle and you get 202. Easy enough.

I'd throw out everything under 200 yards. Those are all mishits, tops, fats, whatever, then drop the nuked 223, and average the rest. Would be 209 avg.

7 wood?

Appreciate all the input - its my 5w

The sim i hit them on is a local place that has the data available through their app, but it is not user friendly for analyzing aggregate data....you have to look at each shot individually and manually input that on your own to excel - no export option.

I've got a jumble of clubs that I'm looking at and trying to decide what to hit. The gapping between 3w and 5w is fine....but then down from there i've got a 7w, 9w, and 4hy that only have a very small gap between them.

I would keep the top 5-7, average them, and throw out the rest. That’s going to be your “stock yardage” for that club.

Everything else going down are probably mis-hits of some sort. That data is useless imo.

I’ll guess that’s a 5 wood. Your stock yardage for that club is ~215. You don’t want to be using this club from ~190 yards out even though that’s your “average.”

Maybe the median is more useful than the mean?

Looks like your median is around 200.

You might could drop the top 3 and bottom 3, then take that mean on the 9 included shots.

The 85 yard shot is meaningless. I hit one of those every now and then, but it does not change the fact that when you make an adequate swing this club probably goes about 200 plus or minus 10 most of the time.

If I had those numbers, in my head that would be my 210 club.

1. take out the bottom 3 and top 3 distances then average the rest

2. 205 to 210 club. Carry distance is more important than total distance imo

3. 3 wood or 4 iron

I evidently need to tee off with my sand wedge.
Fastest ball speed I had yesterday was out of a green side bunker. Putrid.

Taylormade is rumored to be working on their next driver generation and the face will be shaped like a sand wedge... They're going to add 20mph of ball speed overnight.
