How mismanaged does a company with multiple casinos have to be in order to accrue 20 BILLION dollars in debt??

Damn they just bought Eldorado for 17.3 billion a few years ago. Hope it gets over $100 again...

Selling $7 waters tends to decrease overall revenues

It’s worse than it even seems.
The casinos were selling the land under the buildings and are now leasing the properties at astronomical rates.
It’s why the cost to stay in Vegas has gone nuts since Covid: $150/night resort fees, $35-$50 burgers, $35 drinks… the casinos are hemorrhaging money.

TF? Who thought selling land on the Vegas strip would be a smart idea?

Caesar’s went bankrupt a while back. Part of the re-organization was selling the land to VICI. That way the creditors of the casinos got paid while the casino doors stayed open.

Caesars is one of the most iconic brands in gaming. $20B+ in debt.
The property in Vegas is an embarrassment.

Wow!
Present value of future cash flows is what it’s all about…
What triggers ‘for sale’ of a casino decision? Vice business is about people’s weakness. Religions, industries, black markets built around this.
How does a casino get to point that sale makes best ‘cents’ for shareholders? Exploiting human weakness does not require Harvard MBA.

You are going to get either Chairman, Elite, or their new tier, the Millionaire Club.
Fertitta buying Caesars would cement him buying the Saints with all the marketing tie ins.
Fun little fact at all Golden Nugget locations there are 61 pound replicas of a vein of gold called the Hand of Faith. They say the real one is in Vegas, but I have seen reports that the Nugget in Biloxi has the real one.
If you are interested, the one in Biloxi is near the check in desk on the 2nd level next to nonsmoking casino room.

Hopefully, the new owners bring back 3/2 blackjack.

Some places have 3/2 Blackjack, but you need to be a high roller. Unfortunately, I am not. That is why I play slots.

The amount of money they spent advertising their sports betting app at first was insane and I don’t think it’s even close to the top market share getters.
