Martin Short's daughter Katherine has died by suicide

Working as a social worker in LA, I can only imagine the shite she saw in that job. Talk about profession woefully underpaid and stretched incredibly thin.

Why have people started marking out letters in suicide (s*icide) when it’s still very clear what the word is? Is this a social media thing?

My guess is that certain words gets the post flagged and possibly taken down. That's why they use dumb things like "un-alived" instead of "killed" or "murdered."

This is awful.

I know there's so many factors at play, but suicide is the worst thing you could do to someone else.

We just got home from a funeral of a 12 year old girl that did it.
Insane heartbreak. Saddest thing I’ve seen

They also can't say killed or murdered or face getting demonitized so they say unalived.

I can't imagine...losing your wife, and then your daughter. That's just horrible. Prayers sent.

Yeah, it's an effort to stop the stampede before it starts for the weak minded soft people who seek out their "Safe Place" when they see a word that triggers their senses.


It's hard for me to fathom that some people can be that damn fragile.

It’s tough. I work with LCSW’s who have gone back to get their Masters to go into therapy settings and a lot did case management or your typical door to door work beforehand.

It’s also dangerous as frick. They finally pushed to get PDs to start going out with them here in some cases after one was beaten to death taking a child on a home visit.
