Do you believe the Pelicans will actually relocate in the next 10 years?

Want a more balanced answer so bringing this to the MSB. What say you? The whole Franchise feels pathetic in a way that only a move could fix. It’s torture.

How could a move fix the franchise? It needs new ownership, and that may cause a relocation.

I should have spelled it out a little better. I’m assuming new ownership and then a move. Hand in hand.

Assuming Vegas and Seattle get expansion teams, where would they go? St. Louis? Nashville? Kansas City? Another California/Texas/Florida team?

It depends on attendance and local revenue from suites, tv, and corporate sponsorships. New Orleans compared to other markets lacks those things. How many Fortune 500 companies does NO have compared to Atlanta, Detroit, and even OKC and Milwaukee.

Not after expansion.
Without expansion? I would have bet a lot of money they would

Pelicans not going anywhere. Gayle will eventually sell it to a new owner/group that wants to keep it here. She is on record saying so

Nashville, Mexico City, Louisville, and St. Louis would be the most viable options.

Like it did after Katrina… the Hornets played a lot better with full crowds in OKC
When you’re the #30 market in the league with an outdated arena it is what it is

Does anyone really care?

That's a good wrinkle in OP's plan. Obviously, you need Gayle to pass away as she won't sell either franchise while alive. Then you would have to hope that the franchises are split. Now saying a single owner won't eventually move the Pelicans if they desire, but they won't do it right away.
But, once the league expands, they will have less interest in a new city...unless they want to try to expand internationally (Mexico or other Canadian city)

St. Louis isn't a viable option. There aren't enough corporate dollars here to support an additional pro team.

No it's a brain dead narrative that only low IQ Pelicans fans continue to drum.
Gayle has zero reason to sell when she makes a profit win or lose. Unless she dies unexpectedly, they're not leaving.

California/Texas
I think they are tapped out. The Texas Triangle is full, 4 teams in Cali. I mean…MAYBE San Diego.
For Florida, I guess Tampa and Jax are on the table, but you’d need arena deals.

Moving doesnt fix shite. Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets have been arse forever.
New Orleans Jazz and Hornets werent good either.

There have been consulting firms hired by the NBA and the city exploring Pittsburgh as a destination if a team like the Pelicans would move. I don't think it's anything serious, but the arena is up to date and there are 11 Fortune 500 companies in the town vs. 2 for the state of Louisiana. Pittsburgh has always been a cool market for basketball though.
I think a likely move would be Tampa or St. Louis. There being a team in Memphis probably hurts Nashville's chances.

Doubt Nashville given the Grizzlies a few hours away

Will Sacramento?

The OKC Hornets were terrible

You're going to see a deal for a extremely substantial reno of the SKC that will tie them in a lease that would be extremely difficult to get out of.
So no they will be here a long time.
They are a pathetic franchise though
