Longer than expected drawn out conflict?
Drones, planes and bombs only?
Does anyonone come in on irans side as a surprise player (china)?

Strikes from the air and sea with Israel joining in.

Houthis, Hamas, Hezbollah and militant groups in Iraq try some stuff and get wrecked in the process.

Hopefully the people of Iran can take to the cities and help bring the weakend regime down in the chaos

The military buildup suggests a full scale regime change effort

It will be mostly bombs and missiles. Could see some SF or CIA operatives on the ground but you will on here about it if something goes bad wrong or way after the fact. Bombing could last over a stretched out period of time since it will mainly be us. If Israel helps or anyone else that could cut the time down.

The repose from Iran will be very hot for a short period of time but the more missiles they use and the more we find and destroy will start to cut some of that down. My main concern is the drones more than the ballistic missiles. The drones can slip past detection a whole lot easier.

The regime is composed of thuggish cowards, who I don't think can convince their soldiers to stand and fight against their countryman backed by the USA, when the USA join the fight.

The only wildcard is what Chinese weaponry has been brought in, whether it is effective, and how much the regime has brought in.

Yep. Plus I'm curious as to how many thousands of ARs find their way into the hands of Iranians about a week after the first bombs drop.

Weapons should already be there ready to be distributed to the Iranians as soon as the bombing begins.

I would guess that the son of the former Shaw will take power temporarily if nothing else. I can see Trump putting him in power until Iran is back on its feet enough to hold elections. Now if the people of Iran want to make him a King or something then I’m sure Trump would be ok with that but I’m just guessing he will be in power to do something similar to what is going on in Venezuela right now.

Not ARs, AKs. The regular army will side with the people to defeat the IRGC and the Mullahs. We fly around and destroy as many military toys as possible. Any Iranian supported terrorist group that twitches a muscle also gets blasted. They'll probably get fricked up any way just because.
Iranian people will take over and complete any rat killing that needs finishing.
We'll leave with the place in chaos, but will help if asked. I think the Iranian people will thank us and ask us to withdraw as they'll take over and reorganize on their own.

One of the main problems with Iraq after we took over was the idiot politicians here could keep the power on and the water running. We won’t have that problem this time around with a builder in the WH. He would probably love solving those problems just for fun.

Nope, no nation building. We free them and let them handle it.

Going to be a long road, but hope they get the chance to do it.

I say ARs because I think we will arm them, or already have, after the initial phases. I do think a lot of Iranians in the military will defect, and there will be a lot of ak action. But given the choice between a new/gently used m4 or an old beat up ak? Hope they can get a lot of m4s.

What would we nation build with? All the forces we have over there is naval and air. We don’t have near enough ground forces in the region for an occupation. I’m talk about the people we end up helping run the place will need help and Trump will know how to do it and what people to send from the private sector to go over and get everything working.

I'm really not sure what we're going to do... the country WANTS to flip. It shouldn't take much of a push, honestly.

Maybe some shock and awe on military instillations, especially where the imported goons (non-Iranians brought in to quell the rebellion) are hanging out. Bunker busters for the command and control, and government. That way we can drive them out into the streets and let the people take them.
This has serious potential for a feel-good "liberation of Iran" moment, if we play it right. Strong show of supporting force, hit what forces can do damage to rioters, let them do the rest.

I don't think the Chinese do any more than token support, not if we're coming in hot.

It'll last about 350 minutes. So, less than 6 hours.

Our military will end this with the absolute quickness.

We've already got people inside Iran, everywhere.

We're putting more there now.

We've got assets all over the place and the Mullahs know it ... as does the MOIS. Anyone even remotely suspected of working for the US or Israel are either already dead, or being hunted, whether they are guilty or not. The MOIS is pathologically paranoid. They torture and murder first and ask questions later.

So the question is, how will this go down?

It will happen during stand-to. In the very early hours one morning. It will begin with surgical strikes on key reactionary forces throughout the country.

During the ruckus, our assets on the ground will begin targeted hits on key infrastructure and assassinations of all unfriendly targets being flushed into shelters ... they'll hit them with everything from drive up pops to snipers to car bombs to drone strikes with kinetic projectiles in an attempt to limit friendly casualties.

Every single power player within the regime will be targeted.

That's the first six hours ... until just before mid-day.

Then the bait will be sent in to lure out anymore surface to air defences missed in the opening salvo.

All the while all communications will be monitored by satellite by our NSA back home. They'll be waiting for others on the list to pop their heads up. Someone always does ... someone has to give orders.

The IRGC will be collecting innocents as shields (they already are actually) hoping that we will not hit them when they are surrounded by innocents ... women and children. It's what they do.

By nightfall ... here we come again with new targets of opportunity from info gleaned during the initial raid.

All the while we're listening to their diplomats' typical lies and bullshite trying to talk us into letting them catch their breath. Their diplomats are in Paris with the frogs up their asses and we're playing along ... but we're still bringing smoke on their mullah asses back home.

Night two comes and goes and, by this time we have devastated the regime and they're trying to negotiate a peaceful journey out of the country to France.

The IRGC is waving a white flag.

MOIS is still executing people.

Our people on the ground, with help from Iranian civilians, are hunting down every SOB loyal to the Mullahs' regime.

Very little quarter will be given but some will be held for public trials and executions.

A governing body will be quickly assembled to control angry citizens, take charge of local police units, and organize friendly military in favor of the Freedom Cause.

We will never place occupying troops on the ground.

I seriously doubt the Shah's Son will be placed back in charge.

Terrorist attacks will become a thing for awhile ... typical Islamic jihadist stuff snuck across the border from various other places.

It'll be rough going for awhile.

All the while we'll have Delta and SF troops there doing work as advisors and trainers.

Lightning war featuring decapitation strikes against their senior leadership and potentially alternative sects we don’t want to fill the void.

We will arm the people we and the Israelis want to win, kill then people we don’t and they’ll end up sorting the rest out with their Ayatollah loyal military units getting shredded via air and missile attacks.

I think it’s likely to work, but Bibi ain’t stopping until their nuke program is gone so if it doesn’t it’ll keep coming back like a herpes outbreak.
