My favorite 30 days of fishing starts tomorrow. Yeah, I can catch them on piles from May to December, but there's just something about that cork against the cypress that gets me going.

Got some of that action yesterday. Couldn’t go back today due to plans. Very sad

Caught a few this morning. Bite stopped when the fog lifted. Then the wind picked up.

It looks like a lot of fun. I’ve watched several kfred videos where he just throws at cypress trees and whips the cork. Seems error proof but a good time. Good luck.

Caught about a dozen mixed whites and blacks. Spring Bayou used to be 100% blacks. Whites must have come in during a Red River back up. Also caught a few accidental bass. Looks like the crappie were all males and the early move to the trees. We only caught multiple fish on two trees.

Broke my main line twice right above the cork on hook set. Bad line. Anyway the fish just hung out where they bit. Almost got one of them in hand lining it.

Jigs set anywhere from 1' to 3' depending on inside vs outside trees.

Was trying to decide between Sacs and Trout. Trout are usually transitioning from Lake Pontchartrain to the outside over the next couple of months and you can run into them if you time it right vs. spawning Sac au lait which I usually miss because I’m too late. With the front coming through Saturday night and for convenience (my sacalait fishing buddy wasn’t available). I went for trout. 15 beauties with 10 in the 15-20in range by 8am. All that to ask, do yall do well with sacalait right after a front or does it slow down like saltwater? I’m thinking about going after the sacs this weekend but looks like a front on Friday.

Can't wait for the time change. Go fishing after work for some perch and sacalait.
