My wife and I fast on Lenten Fridays to prepare for a fish plate from the church. Nothing hits better than that fried fish when your panza is growling!

Yep, it’s never “clean” fish without the fishy taste.

Taste better when you catch em yourself. I cant bring myself to order fried fish at a restaurant or take a plate of store bought fish from a church.

Is it really a sacrifice to not eat meat on Friday?

We do this every year. Looking forward to my combo plate from St. Christopher’s shortly. I enjoy trying plates from different parts of the city, depending on which neighborhood I’m in that day. (Thank you to the archdiocese for sorting the churches by parish this year, rather than just listing them alphabetically.) Some are definitely more seasoned than others, but all give the satisfaction of contributing to a charitable cause.

If you fast, you shouldn’t tell anyone. If you do, you lose the reward from fasting. (Matthew 6:16-18)
