Careful your thread is going to get pulled by chicken.

Kim forgot how to coach

She played like crap in the first half. I am glad Kim is sitting her.
Fulwiley belongs in the rec center. She is quicker than everyone on the court, but she continues to let her man go by her so she can try to steal the ball or block a shot. I cant believe Mulkey puts up with that. But I guess she sold her soul to NIL when we got Fulwiley.

What is this about?

Most people agreed when I said she disappeared every game. Looks like Kim has had enough!

I think she’s sending a message with effort.

The leading scorer in the game, 26 points (56%) plus 3 steals, 2 assists, and 7 rebounds.
Without Fulwiley, LSU loses this game.

I'm happy LSU won but I hate (and I mean HATE) the way we close games. We DO NOT play smart basketball. People understanding the game will know what I mean.
I'm proud of the increase in defensive intensity in the 4th quarter...we played like crap up until then.
Williams had a bad game...needed Fulwily's speed and defense.

Well it was actually the opposite way this time. We closed the game strong. But played like shite the other three quarters

Well, Kim sat her for the entire second half after she made that behind the back pass that turned into a turnover........................and I think it was a great move!
It's high time that Williams starts to fulfill her potential. She could be the best player in the SEC if she could keep her head in games and STAY AGGRESSIVE. I remember when we were recruiting her and a bunch of folks on this board were trying to compare her to Seimone Augustus, and I let them know, as good as she is, she's not on Seimone's level. The difference I see between the two, at this stage of their careers is a willingness to PUT YOUR TEAM ON YOUR BACK. And honestly, Williams doesn't really need to do it, because this team is more offensively talented than the teams Seimone played on. But she doesn't even show the mentality to do it when it's needed.

I was talking about playing smart (not closing strong). You have a 4 & 6 point lead with less than a minute, do you drive for a layup or burn clock until you are fouled? You have your best free throw shooters handling the ball... be smart...that's what I'm saying...the clock is your friend.
LSU can't win the National Championship unless they play smart, hit free throws and protect the ball (not get out of control).

I've seen games where she looked like one of the best players in the country. But more often she has not been that player. We kept trying to run plays for her in the SC game in critical times in the second half and I don't remember her making any of them.

Surprised it took Mulkey this long to bench her , Mikaylah is good for three four careless turnovers a game and I think that behind the back pass in a crowd was when Mulkey had enough .
Mikaylah can be as good as she wants to be but she doesn’t seem to have that dog in her that a lot of the great ones do .

Fulwiley was player of the game. We don't win last night without that big 2nd half from her.

We won the game in the 4th. Your comment about closing games does not apply to last night.
Disagree that Williams had a bad game. She was good early on when we were leading the game. She did have too many turnovers, but seemed like she made some shots when we needed them from her. Kim pulled her to play faster and also went to different bigs that played stout defense. It worked. Mulwiley and Jada were too fast for Miss in the 4th. Miss seemed like they lost their legs some in the 4th. Mulley pulled the right triggers in this one. I could be off, but think Miss only scored 7 points in the 4th. Also, Kovel brought a toughness inside that we needed. She is situational, and did her job. She had a good number of rebounds when we needed extra possessions to get back in the game. This was a team win orchestrated by good coaching moves.

The offense is trash and not designed to get her involved. It's an ISO offense that's not going to win a championship.

I said this after the USCe game. We want to run that pick and roll all the time. And against alot of teams (including UT the first time) it works and she can create a shot.
But teams are doing a few things on her now.
1. every single team we play is pressuring the ball in the backcourt from the inbounds all the way to our first pass. It is killing the the first 10-12 of the shot clock just getting into our offense.
2. then they are putting quicker defenders on MW and fighting over every screen and even if we get a screen they hedge very hard. Essentially saying we will not allow MW to get off a shot off the screen, force her to pass it. Which is leading to all the turnovers. We also have this habit of not quickly getting in to a pick and roll call. Our guards have to call it over, then if it isn't here initially, with the fact they have already killed the first 20 seconds of the shot clock, we end up scrambling. I have never seen a Mulkey team with so many shot clock violations.
I'd love to see us take the ball out of mikaylas hands and start running her off screens away from the ball. if they are gonna play over the screens and hedge that hard on her, it should open up other players and it doesn't require the person coming off the screen to be the passer.
Our offense has been stuck in the mud for three games. our response last night was to just run. We didn't really make an offense adjustment. Ole Miss had played 4 games in 8 days. We just gassed them. that shows in the 0-16 shooting. Mcmahon was exhausted at the end. She airballed her last two shots.
I'm just a little tired of the constant one on one and pick and rolls. teams are getting wise. I hate to even type this sentence, but I'd like to see us run more motion in the vein of what USC does to get tessa johnson open shots. I just don't know if this team is disciplined enough to run that.

This comment didn’t age well! Benching your best player for careless turnovers and lack of effort then winning in spite of that is what great coaches do.
