Just got back from bacchus, parked on the median on Louisiana Avenue along with hundreds of others. Came back to a parking ticket, wtf. What are they gonna do when i don't pay?

Nothing if you never return to NOLA again

Also, you deserve a ticket for calling it the median

You got a ticket for calling the neutral ground the median.

Helena Mareno’s extra parking patrols will not pay for themselves without writing gobs of tickets and balancing a 120 million dollar short fall.

I would never risk street parking in New Orleans. I would find a garage or park at Caesar’s, and gamble. Even paying Caesar 75 dollars to park is probably cheaper than dealing with that ticket.

Correct. Few weeks ago They even started giving tickets in residential areas of Broadmore

How the frick did you park on that neutral ground?

It will stay with the car unlike camera tickets.

Nothing bad will happen if you dont park elsewhere in the city on public property. (Use parking lots)

Well at least you did not get booted, towed, or stolen. Consider yourself lucky.

What ticket?

When I had Saints tickets I use to street park never put a nickel in the meter or paid to park in a lot. In 6 years I got 1 ticket and it was $30. I came out way ahead.

They couldn't boot or tow the hundreds of other cars lined up in the same spot. No sign saying no parking, how is someone from out of town supposed to know New Orleans ordinances?

Doesn't happen often in my area of Mid-City, but every once in a while they will roll through and ticket cars parked facing the wrong way on the 2 way streets. The last one a friend of mine got was for $60.

I'd just rip it up. Who's to say a drunk guy didn't remove it before you returned to your vehicle?

Its called the neutral ground, because that's where the canal used to run and nutrias lived in the canal banks

Do you need a sign for everything? Did you think it's legal, or just figure other people are doing it so you can do it too?

It's obviously not legal. A quick Google search, "Parking on the neutral ground is prohibited by City Ordinance Section 154-1031, "Illegal parking upon neutral ground, public playground or pedestrian mall." But you already knew this..
