With the warp speed towards Idiocracy, we are going to need skilled creatives more than ever. I can only imagine the AI slop generated from the trailer parks.

I’ll also create two more seasons of True Detective with Woody and Matty M.
A re-do of 1/9 where LSU shuts out Bama 21-0.
Maybe a Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat crossover while we’re at it.

There might even be a movie about a make believe lawyer who spends 14 hours a day on a message board being a contrarian to everything in an attempt to appear intellectually superior.

thinking this is bad is NOT contrarian

With Affleck and Damon admitting that Netflix asks creatives to make content so dumb that people can half-watch while scrolling their phones, I’m not sure AI should be a chief concern for moviegoers. The actual people in charge are literally asking for slop. I find it hard to believe a small team with a good story utilizing AI for the visuals would be a lot worse.

Agree but currently hollywood gatekeepers can keep creative people out if they dont push the shite that studios want
AI just makes it easier for creative people to make stuff

It's not as much even that the stuff can be created, it's the watchful, tasteful eye that knows what's wrong and how to fix it.
Kind of like this
If you have an understanding of editing and how insane the process is, that kind of stuff can be replicated by AI and you may get lucky with the end product, but if AI creates something and you can't identify the issue or communicate how to fix it, you won't produce great stuff.
And that's not to say people in Hollywood haven't been fricking up, b/c they've been doing that for decades. I'm just saying it's going to require talent to produce good stuff.

Cinematographers are gonna picket
You'll still need good scripts, good direction
But 5 years from now, tell me the use case for set and costume designers if it continues to advance this way

You guys are so quickly adopting the language of slop, in addition to the taste for it.

What should the Hollywood overlords be called?
They’re like politicians that believe the government knows best

It will be films generated per viewer.
Language, tone, pacing, even narrative choices adapted to individual taste.
