So I ordered a king cake from Gambinos. They didn’t have the GOAT wedding cake so I ordered Bavarian cream. Probably a bad choice I don’t know. The cake itself was like $35 plus tax and exorbitant shipping I ended up paying like $65 for this king cake. But it’ll be worth it for a taste of Mardi Gras I thought.

I get this thing and it is beat completely to hell. I mean it’s like mush. Cant even pick up a slice to eat like half of it. I thought with what they charge you for shipping they’d have figured out some kind of way to get the thing to you in one piece. shite man. Still tastes good though.

Bavarian filled chocolate donuts are GOAT. Never had a king cake one though.

I got a couple king cakes sent to me and they were in somewhat decent shape. Of course, the boxes say "this side up" and the idiots with UPS put them standing up on their side. They were packed much better than some I've gotten in previous years so they weren't in too bad of shape. Still a little mushed on one side though.

Our local grocery store started selling them (Gambino’s king cakes) this year but only carry strawberry, praline, cream cheese, and plain. The plain is my favorite. Wish we had a decent bakery closer for a fresher one but it fills the void for sure.

we are the only king cake bakery that invented and patented an original, complementary king cake shipping container for select cakes.
Next year, order from Randazzo’s Camellia City.

They sell out for shipping really fast, so order about 2 / 3 weeks before Mardi Gras.

They ship their king cakes in a plastic container.

This is the answer. We order them for the office every year. And every year, my coworkers proclaim them the best they've ever had. Mark your calendar to place your order right after the first of the year.

Yes, you are correct. Order earlier than I mentioned.
2 / 3 weeks before Mardi Gras, they will be sold out for Shipping.

When you order online for shipping, you can type in the date you would like it to be shipped.

They are not open year round like other bakeries.

If you have a Kroger near you, they have the same Gambinos king cake for sale in their bakery for $20.00 regular and 25 for cream cheese filled.

King cake prices are out of control thus year
Must be the tariffs on the baby they put in the cake

I remember when you could get one for $5

I’ve been getting Cannata’s king cake in the mail for 3+ years.

One year I think the box got put in the delivery truck upside down, but overall no issues.

Have you seen the prices to ship?

Haydel’s $69.95 Traditional
$75.95 Filled

They no longer include the tiny porcelain/plastic collectible and the Mardi Gras beads.

I had one shipped in January. When it arrived to the destination, the delivery guy laid it flat against their porch brick wall.

It did not have the words” this side up”
printed on the box. UGH!

Manny Randazzo in Metairie has the shipping work led out. Plus many think best around. I know of at least 4 randazzo’s now, and they all different: Metairie, chalmette, Pensacola and now camellia apparently

Pay someone to throw up on your shoes and throw your trash out in all over your yard.

You’ll feel back at home.
