Help me figure out what’s going on with my Lab

I have a 14 month old black lab. I don’t know what’s going on with him and need some help. Wednesday was the last time he ate his regular food, but he got sick several time hours later. It wasn’t recent, it was like later in the afternoon and he got sick two or three times. Well ever since then he turns his nose up at everything I’ve tried (chicken broth he ate a little bit of that, white rice and boiled chicken he turns his nose up at). I got him to eat a little plain Greek low-fat yogurt thinking he had digestion issues. Well he threw that up hours later. He doesn’t get sick when he drinks water though. He wasn’t playful or his normal self Wednesday or Thursday morning but Thursday afternoon he was acting like his old self. This morning he was back acting like he wasn’t feeling good again but then tbjs afternoon he was kinda running around in the yard but not 100mph with his hair on fire like his usually self. I also notice when he sleeps he’s shaking but not constantly doing it. I’ve felt around his stomach to see if he had gut pain but he seems fine and lets me do it. I called the vet but they can’t see me until Monday morning. Please help.

Take the dog to a vet ER

Do you have a daughter? Not like a 5 year old or that young but get her to call the vet and cry on the phone. I’m not even kidding that it’s worked for some friends of mine after her dog got bit by another one and there were no available appointments. Nobody tells a crying girl no.
Either that or bite the bullet and go to the Emergency Vet.

I would find an emergency vet even if you have to drive a bit. Might have some sort of obstruction. My parents lost a puppy that way and it traumatized them.

This is also a good idea.

I’d been thinking about that but didn’t want to overreact if it was something I hadn’t thought of. I’ll take him tonight, there’s one an hour away. He’s been there once already when he got into some mushrooms in his younger days.lol

It's probably an obstruction
My sil dog just had all of the same symptoms they took the dog to med vet. 2400 dollars later the dog was home the dog decided to eat rocks causing a blockage

Have you put anything out in your yard lately like a pre-emergent or ant poison?

Could he have eaten a sock? Sounds like how my neighbor's lab was acting before they found out he had eaten a sock

I bet he swallowed something he shouldn’t have

He doesn’t eat socks, he steals them but you tell him to drop and he will. I would be surprised if he ate a sock.

quote:this is what I was thinking. Our dummy golden was obsessed with eating socks and acted like that before we took him to the vet to get it removed. It’ll kill the pup if they don’t get that removed

Got my boys a chocolate lab pup for Christmas. She steals socks too and doesn't eat them, but I'm still hyper vigilant about it. Hope you figure out what's wrong with yours.

Thank you! Yeah it looks like it’ll be a long night at the vet hospital. They do have free coffee though and donuts.lol

Better safe than sorry. Monday is way too long to wait if something is actually wrong
Hoping for the best for you and the pup

My wife's hospital tells them "no" all the time, and refers them to the emergency afterhours vet down the road.

Does she eat drywall?
Every chocolate lab I've known, usually through roommates, would eat the wall. Not the wooden borders or doorframes, just the drywall.
And others have told me that their chocolate lab did the same.

My lab ate a sock, when they did the X-ray they found all sorts of other things it ate, bread ties, pen caps.
