But the school board administrators need their half-million per year and are not going to sacrifice it for a bunch of ovens to help feed the chirren.

Good. School lunches are poison slop and have been for a long time. Japan and France spend less per child and have dramatically higher quality food with much less waste.
We have an obesity epidemic in our country that starts in childhood. We should start with the place the government controls where most kids are receiving the majority of their calories on a daily basis.
No more soybean patties masquerading as flavorless burgers. No more “chicken” nuggets that are all breading served with half frozen fries and ketchup.

I've noticed this in my children's school. They don't really have any cooking facilities. When I was a kid my elementary school had a full blown kitchen with a staff and they made everything in that kitchen. That's really rare these days, they outsource all of that and some schools even employ an uber eats/doordash model where the kids can order from local fast food joints.

Yep. People are asking why people are getting sicker, younger. Look at what our kids are eating. Straight out the gate they're eating slop for 3 meals a day. Home and school.

Oh man, I remember we had real lunches in my day. Getting real lunches from ladies with goatees is something every kid should experience.

In elementary school we had bone in fried chicken and pinto beans. A bottle of vinegar was always on the table for the fresh collard and turnip greens.
