Rewatching Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman for the first time since childhood

This was one of my favorite memories of childhood television. Barely old enough to remember watching the original shows but remember the big ones like the Bigfoot saga, the Fembots, and the Seven Million Dollar Man Barney. This show was way ahead of its time for Sci=Fi just like Star Trek was. Who didn't run slow motion and make the bionic sounds when slo-mo fighting with your friends? But I always wondered why they didn't use more of the clip of him running fast in real time (sped up on film) like they did on the intro.
This came up in my feed on youtube and even though it is looped the remade music is banging and it's a great two minute watch. I wish they could remake this with respect and the spirit of the original, but modern remakes don't have a great track record. The Bionic Woman attempt really sucked, but that was due to really bad casting for the lead for the most part. Still one of the best tv shows ever. Lee Majors was great when he played Steve Austin seriously.

He hit 60mph
ETA: As kids we would play games making the mechanical sound and moving really slow.
Good times.

Yep. And you could look through the little magnifying glass on the back of his head that was his bionic left eye.

"Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive."
"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better . . . stronger . . . faster."

I was 5 when my dad got me and my brother autographed pictures of Lee Majors. I have no idea where mine is now.

yes you could look through his left and see w/ bionic vision. I still remember my mom letting me and brother stay up late to watch the first episode: Population Zero.

Lee Majors was on Community.
I’m with the OP, I used to love those shows when I was a kid, I would try so hard not to fall asleep during the Bigfoot episodes.

The show was a little before my time so I liked it as a young kid but somehow ended up with the Oscar Goldman action figure, which had a cool briefcase that was normal and then could look like it exploded.

quote:There's a whole generation of us that grew up watching and imitated that show. I was 15. We'd make the "Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba" sound when we ran to 1st base, or when doing sprints at football practice, Our parents thought we we crazy.
As kids we would play games making the mechanical sound and moving really slow.
