If he comes here there’s no way BK and Sloan are gone, no matter our record.

Bryce not coming didn’t just expedite Kelly and Sloan a fraudness. It allowed us to spend money on a defense that got the program back where it needs to be on that side of the ball, and likely why Baker decided to stay.

It also allowed us to go stockpile talent in the QB room with the portal.

The trickle effect is amazing.

The perfect storm has happened for LSU football. Lane and LSU are the perfect match right coming out the gate.
No BS. Be Real. Be Dominant.

He seems like a great kid, and I’m sorry we missed out on him. But, I can’t really argue with the OP. If he stuck to his commitment, it’s hard to conceive of a scenario in which we have a total staff turnover.

As bad and terrible and awful as it sucked… the gAy&M loss ended up resulting in almost best case scenario for us. It was final nail in the coffin and forced the abrupt change that would have otherwise surely lingered on way too long.

We didn’t and couldn’t truly realize it then, but it was worth it.

not sure what would have been different besides having a better backup to nuss . I dont buy that hes the reason we had that great portal class last off season. I think we we put it all back into high school recruiting for that particular class

There are a couple great books on the topic of chance and chaos theory called “Fluke” and “Chaos” that summarize the type of thing we’ve seen here.

And it’s all perception anyway

Now I'm curious: what's the bigger butterfly effect?

Underwood flipping, ultimately gets BK fired, Lane Train arrives & is off to a promising start.

...or Burrow transferring and making LSU a place where even an idiot like O can side-car the Greatest Team of All-Time, which becomes a factor in why an offensive genius would leave his CFP-bound team before the CFP.

...or Saban maximizing La.'s resources & turning LSU into a powerhouse, where even idiots like Les & O can win championships, which, along with a Saban testimonial, becomes a lure for Lane coming here.

OP makes a good point. Spending that money on him wouldn't have allowed us to spend money on D last year or the crop of QB and OL. All our QB money would be tied up with Bryce.
I think he could've flourished under LK though and it sux for him that he had a psycho for a coach.

I think it’s a mistake to lump Miles and Orgeron together. Miles had some issues, sure, but he had sustained success at LSU, kept the momentum Saban built, and ultimately had success on his own. He is in a different class than Orgeron.

He committed to that dummy. It wasn’t about seeing through BK it was about Michigan offering 12 million dollars.

Also helped the decision makers seeing the way Aggie gloated & celebrated on our home field.

They will pay dearly for that soon enough

the Les hate is out of control, he wasn't a fluke one hit wonder, he took what saban built and continued the success. The man won a lot of games in the hardest conference...he just went up against the greatest dynasty in CFB history. He was flawed no doubt but saying he's an idiot is far fetched. We've seen with the last two hires, how bad it can get with bad coaching.

In fact, Les made LSU into a consistent fixture proving it was a great destination, not just somewhere where a unicorn like Saban was the outlier.

My stance from the second he flipped was "good". Not because signing him would have been necessarily bad, but because being 2nd in recruiting is a great position nowadays, I would rather let another program train him up, and then watch LSU snipe him back for his junior year and win a title anyway. That is why since Joe Burrow stepped foot on campus, my stance has mostly been not to crap on kids for going elsewhere. Now it's just.... see ya for your prime, kid.

some success for sure.

BUT the bazaar management of the clock and lack of consistent offensive play calling hampered his teams.

Miles decision making process was baffling at times.

Alleva keeping Miles after 2011-2012 was a mistake.
