Recommend a small subwoofer that I can have put in my SUV under the seat.

I don’t want a loud vehicle that vibrates the car next to me. Just looking for a small increase in base.

I, too, am trying to hang on to the year 1999.

The amount of 90s and early 00s Baker High School grads on the OT has increased the past week.

A cheap under seat.
LINK
If it was the 90s I would want 2 15"s in the trunk JL audio or Kicker.
Now I just want something cheap. I have a cheap under seat and upgraded my factory woofer.

There are several that will do what you want. I know Kicker makes some in the $300-400 range that have really good reviews.

For a decent, budget friendly alternative look at Rockville. I helped a friend put a rockville powered sub in his truck and it sounded great and only cost about $130.

Also, There are also some models that mount inside of a spare tire.

Meh. I just want one small speaker.
When I was 16 I had saved up some money and got two 12” speakers and an amp. I also would put my two huge home stereo speakers in the car. Yes I was trashy.

If you really want good bass and sound combined from relatively small speakers, go with Bose 6×9s. Surprisingly very clean deep bass and mid sound. Might even mount in your doors.

Oh shite, I'm flashing back to my days of growing up in Da Berry in the 80's and early 90's....

Kenwood KSC-PSW7EQ
Compact powered subwoofer with 8.25" x 5.5" sub and 80-watt amp.
Its easy to install. You can power it using an add a fuse at the fuse box instead of running a wire to the battery.

LOL. No I haven’t had any kind of stickers or magnets in my vehicle for at least 20 years.
Went to school with a very fat guy and he always said when he got his first vehicle he would put Sweet-N-Low in the back windshield.

Do you still have a train set in your bedroom?

quote:A subwoofer is a crucial piece to any audio system. Not to knock pictures off the wall when you pass by, but for playing low frequencies in the music. Any good car audio system has a subwoofer, even from the factory.

Imagine how a home audio system would sound with no subwoofer.
To the OP, like you, I like a good sound quality subwoofer rather than one that is going to be super loud but sound like crap. Sound quality subwoofers are referred to as “SQL” subs and subwoofers that are meant for loudness are referred to as “SPL” subs. That may help you in your search.
In my car, I have one 10” Image Dynamics IDQ10 V4 subwoofer, which is meant for sound quality. Also, a sealed box is better for clean, accurate bass, but it’s quieter than a ported box which is meant for loud boomy bass. It’s about $240.

Like the Image Dynamics sub, the Dayton Audio HO 10” subwoofer is also known as being a fantastic sound quality subwoofer for a good price.

You can research those two subs and SQL subs in general and maybe that will help you in the right direction. You’ll also need a decent amp for those.
JL Audio JD500/1 is a good amp at a good price that is perfect for powering those subs.

Or if you want something easy, look for a compact powered subwoofer. It’s all in one. The amp is built in and it comes in a slim box. It’s not going to get as loud as even those SQL subs I recommended, but it’s cheaper and easier. Something like the JBL BassPro Nano:
