My boomer uncle once said “Fareplay, they just want some who won’t take no for an answer” when I was applying to corporate jobs after grad school. He told me to go to the office and hand them my resume.

I grew up in Texas and was applying to jobs in California.

I'm Gen X but supposedly boomers told them to stop buying the avocado toast so they can afford a house.

It's perfectly normal to want to start gender reassignment surgery for your five year old kid.

“Just be yourself” has to be the worst advice in the history of dating advice, and it was a staple of older friends and relatives, especially females.

when i asked him what he meant by the atm card....he thought it was the same as a credit card and didnt understand what a debit card was.

"If you just work hard and pull yourself up by your bootstraps, you can be successful"

To every older Millennial/Xennial who came right out of college into a major recession. While the spending value of the dollar when they were in their 20s was significantly higher.

When trying to date a woman in this day and age, had my PawPaw tell me, "Man, just buy her an ice cream and you'll win her heart!" ...had to explain the lack of choices in his day (50s-60s) for women due to the lack of internet and apps, the lack of basic appreciation and common entitlement ("as he should") attitude in today's market meant that his advice was quite outdated. He meant well at least.

Your papa saw the 3rd girl of his life and married her. We see 3 girls every 6 seconds

Work hard and you can do whatever you want in life.

That dream is rapidly disappearing.

Got told I needed to dumb down my resume and act lazier in my interviews if I ever wanted to get hired there. It was for a job at NASA.

My father and my uncles are not boomers, but from time to time they send me viral AI videos and give me advice, unaware that they are AI generated

I'm from the Silent Generation and members of the Lost Generation told me to inject mercury into my penis after I slept with prostitutes so I wouldn't get a venereal disease. That was terrible advice!
