I keep shooting them and more just keep showing up. Anyone else feel this way?

I’ve never added feeder pens at any of my places because I still get excited shooting pigs and would much rather shoot a pig than a doe.

Let’s keep a running thread to see how many pigs the OB takes out this year.

I’ve killed 2 so far and will be getting back on them after my break. Just add to the total so we can keep a running total.

Doesn’t matter to me. I prefer Axis and Nilgai over whitetail. I do like the ease of browning whitetail for meal prep and save my steaks for axis and Nilgai. Usually just strap my pigs.

Sometimes I don’t even shoot whitetail if there’s nothing that interest me. I’ll shoot a Nilgai instead for myself and give away whitetail meat to someone in need if I have to take some does.

I have been hunting the same piece of land for almost 25 years. I never saw a pig until 3 years ago. Since then, I have shot one each year. I make sausage with the pigs and ground meat and roasts with the deer. I love the fact that I have another animal on the hit list when I get in the stand. Only issue, the deer are way more spooky when those pigs are in the area.

Up to 6 hogs so far and 3 yotes. The hogs were a slaughter in one shoot.

I used to do the same but it's hard to beat a whole pig shoulder good down in a gravy.

I didnt go much this year. Shot one with my bow and another while squirrel hunting. Didnt see as much sign as normal, I guess they trapped a bunch on the wma over summer.

I would do more but I’m a shitty cook.

Never made a gravy, stew, gumbo in my life. I’m more of a crock pot, grill, pan sear kinda guy.

I think it’s your obligation to take OB on pig hunts. Appropriate fee of course. Please?

Only 2 since the first. Shot 5 in December and they moved on for a while, they'll be back. We don't have nearly the amount we had back in the late 90's, we trapped 118 in 98 off 200 acres. Back then there was a place over by Dilley that bought them live and they were shipping by the boat load to Eastern Europe. They pay around .50 per pound if they were 100lbs, about half that for smaller ones. I believe there is still a place in San Antonio that buys them, USDA rules are more stringent now so they have to test and hold them for a bit then they process them and just send the meat to Europe. It's considered a delicacy over there apparently.

That’s a helluva gun rack baw!

Since the feed ban went into effect, I didn’t see 1 pig while deer hunting this year. Only got a few night pics of some passing through.

Three so far this year. Now that deer season is over it's on though. I love night stalking pigs with thermals.

Two so far a 200 lb sow and a 171 lb boar. I enjoy shooting, eating and hunting them. No worries about limits or seasons. Always anywhere for a handful to 20 running around my place. We get all color variations too including spots

Any tips for night hunting with thermal? Never done it, but have access to thermal scope. Was just going to sit in box stand near feeder. Place is too thick to stalk without making a bunch of noise.
