Here now for a conference.
Staying in Resorts world and kid you not the place is damn near empty. A few of the casino table games were filled but rest of casino a ghost town. All the shops and restaurants at RW also dead quiet.
Walked all down the strip and went into Wynn/Encore, Venetian/Palazzo, and Paris and Caesars… same thing. Very few people around.
Feels sort of eerie but not sure if this is just their slow season

Resorts world
has been a pretty big flop
Vegas isn't dead, they just aren't catering towards regular folks these days. Its all about 400 dollar a night rooms and 150 dollar steaks

Sorry, I was there last week and won most of the money so they have had to scale back their operations.

They have been seeing a down trend for years. Multiple reasons have been suggested.

When demand goes down, so will all of the prices. Vegas has become greedy in recent years. Folks are tired of $10 waters.

You realize that it's early Monday morning, right?

$400/night rooms and expensive restaurants & $50 shitty rooms in older hotels and fast food/fast casual for the young/ poor

Post Covid has seen a big time decline for Vegas. Yes, it is routinely relatively empty when something big isn't going on.
There seems to be a lot of concern about it, but not enough concern to do anything like...lower prices.
They have priced themselves out of regular people, and 20 somethings have no desire to go there anymore

To be fair they don't have clocks on the floor.

Vegas fricked themselves by price gouging and fricking over gamblers

The average, everyday person from middle class and down, does not have the extra money to just go spend in Vegas.
A person doesn’t have to go spend a fortune but the thought of just handing Vegas $5000 is painful to most people. That $5000 could go to many other things

Vegas in general ….tourism is down around 15%, which is a massive fricking number
Our next-door neighbor grew up there and still keeps a pulse on what’s going on, he said that this summer we should see a string of insanely cheap hotel rooms from several big casino names launching marketing/promotion campaigns to get people back in
But tourism there is definitely not in a good spot right now

Resorts World isn't a great way to judge how Vegas is, that place is dead even when the strip is alive and kicking.
It just feels like a shopping mall there

I’m waiting for them to add a charge just for looking in the minifridge
