They only had five murders in 2025? Those are rookie stats compared to New Orleans.

For January.

I believe the # of murders is low in January, due to colder temperatures and murderers are generally still following their New Year's resolution not to commit so many murders in the new year (at least for the first few weeks)...

If there was one murder this year and that’s down 80% from last year, then that was suggested they had five murders in January 2025.

I’m talking about January only. That’s what was referenced in the title of the thread.

I’m guessing you weren’t a statistics major in school.

If you have 1 of something and that is 80% less than last year, then you take 1 and divide it by .2

I read it as 80% of last years rate. My bad.

Somebody's math isn't mathing. The only correct numbers here are zero, or multiples of 100. Anyway . . . remarkable however you look at it.

The ironic thing about this is there are people walking around alive today in both DC and Memphis, that would be dead right now if there was no change, that are constantly crying about something Donald Trump is doing.

The murder rate was going down before the Guard arrived. They are not a deterrent in the sections of the city that had serious crime problems. They weren’t even deployed to those areas for the most part…
