I have been researching these different golf simulator clubs that are popping up all over now. I live in BR and I found 3 different ones have opened up (Anytime Golf 24/7, Swingeasy Golf club, and The Back Nine Golf). Everyone seems to have a 6 month commitment minimum and all are expensive. The cheapest I have found is 150 a month for just 2 hours a week.

Has anyone actually joined one of these? If so, do you enjoy them and find they are worth it? With some of the prices listed it seems better to just get a membership to a private club.

I've been several times with a friend who joined one in Dallas and it's massively underwhelming IMO

8 hours a month for $150 is a pretty good deal. I’m up north, so all golfers are solely dependent on indoor golf for at least 4 months. So, demand is greater. Cheapest up here gets you 6 hrs a month for $150. After that, the member price is $35-$40 per hour.

Peak times at xgolf run about $80/hour.

I haven’t seen any around here tha are worth joining. I’m waiting until one has all the amenities of a private club (locker room, grille, etc) before I pull the trigger.

Been to a few of them too and I feel the same way. Feels like a cross between top golf and a video game.

They have a few in Orlando area.

The one closest to me, Athletic Motion Golf, seems more like a social club, full bar and social events. 4 hours a month for $79, 12 hours/mo for $167, Unlimited for $299/mo.

Another one, Swing Envy, is more training/lessons and practice. The Putt-View putting green is really cool. A Mizuno-Titleist fitter/rep is onsite. They are going to expand, so demand must be decent. 4 hours/mo $79, 8 hrs/mo $129, Unlimited $239/mo (3 hrs max per day)

Where is the Anytime Golf at? I have been to the other two and like both. Not sure I would join now with time changing soon but I think they are worth it. Especially if you are working on a swing change. Swingeasy is great imho.

Do you have a pga tour superstore near you? It’s $300 for unlimited simulator use for the year? Damn good deal, also has discounts on other services and lessons

For people with day jobs, I can see the value.
It keeps them dialed in.

Part of the draw of golf for me is to be outside.

I also get tendinitis of the elbow when I hit balls off a mat.

I’m retired so time is available for me to play as much as I like.

Course is closed this weekend for snow days.
I’ll rest the elbow and get back out there soon.

They built a back9 next to me. $100/month for 4 trips or unlimited in the middle of the night. Apparently they are open 24/7.

No thanks

There's one by me that peaked my interest before getting a membership. Different tiers, but starts at 189 a month for 24/7 access to the simulator. Also has a gym and stuff. It's focussed on golf training. Higher up packages include 2 to 4 lessons a month and a club fitting. Any they are like 250 to 350 a month. If it was just down the road, I could maybe see using it for both simulator and a gym. But it's quicker to get to the range at my club.

I joined one recently. Honestly I dunno why I hadn’t sooner. It’s only 8 minutes from my house. Fully private, 2 locations and limited to 240 members. 90 percent of tee times are booked same day. They put together a ton of events at the clubs, outside for real golf and out of town trips like Pinehurst. They have a bar and one location also has a gym. Great to meet people my age and have a place to blow off steam after work. It’s full trackman, so I really get to dial in the clubs. I make it there at least 3-4 times a week.

It’s a lot nicer than most of the simulator clubs.

That seems like a waste of money to me here in La. I can get that for golfers in Montana or North Dakota but I mean, what do have like 15 days a year it's too cold to play or practice.

The biggest item on my Beau Chene wish list for the last 5 years is an indoor practice facility where the indoor tennis courts are and I don't even want a sim. Just give me nets with launch monitor data, an indoor putting green and another indoor chipping green with a small bunker.

I can get behind the value of an indoor training setup but to me, it's more than just a sim.

Joined Intown Golf here in Houston. If you are a member of one you have privileges at all of their other locations. I have no restrictions on time per month. 2700/year in dues.

If you want the social aspect I get it. But if it’s for practice and to get swings in during the week why not just get a launch monitor? They have accurate ones to fit most budgets. I have a net and a good mat in the back yard with a launch pro. I keep a tv on a rolling stand and a waterproof cover for it.

I mean, to be fair, if I went to a practice facility and they rolled out a mat and a TV into the parking lot, I would be slightly pressed.

That’s cheap. Place looks awesome. Looking on their IG, did they really do a group trip to Ohoopee?

I can’t imagine the economics of these places except somewhere like Minnesota where you can only play 6 months of the year
