I had no clue the Golden Globes had a podcast section

And Bert is upset b/c his podcast is failing and his fans revolted.

Amy Poehler won. I didn't even know she had a podcast...

I guess Bert's TV show (i didn't even know he had one, either) is not getting renewed by the sound of it.

Even if he submitted those elitist entitled count wouldn't have nominated him anyway. The Golden Globes and Academy Awards are DEI Hollywood crap now.

Weird title. The Golden Globes didn't snub Rogan; he snubbed them.

how this dude is as famous as he is is pretty unbelievable. dude is a one trick pony (one joke pony?). he's a dime a dozen drunk, funny, college guy, except that he is way removed from college and still using the same shtick. i have five or six friends who are all funnier than he is.

all he does is laugh obnoxiously on his show in between awkward stretches of him trying to seem genuine.

The Machine is a great story. I haven't cared to see much else from him.

ETA: I'm referring to the story he tells during stand-up, not the movie. Haven't seen that one.

that's what i'm talking about. his entire career is based on that one joke and that one persona. yeah it's a funny story, but he has somehow become a worldwide famous comedian based on just that

Bert is a funny storyteller, but a subpar comedian.

i've heard him give some pretty funny stories that have you cracking up (the machine) but his standup is very very meh.

yeah i agree that that story is funny. but that's all he has. have you listened to his podcast with Segura? it's pretty brutally unfunny, and I like Segura.

There is an absolutely huge disconnect between indexing services for podcasts and actual popularity.

Rogan, true crime, sports, and similar categories in that orbit get magnitudes of listeners compared to other shows, but if you ever look at "Top 20" lists, "Popular Shows," or "Essential Listens" in the Apple Podcast app for example, it's absolutely filled with society and culture garbage that love to push the message.

It's actually really hard to find related content if you don't know exactly what you're searching for.

All this to say, the average Reddit and Bluesky poster who only listens to the shows on those lists are probably the same ones who vote for these awards.

Segura used to be great but I can’t think of a bigger example of a sell out than him. Him and Bert are giant tools now.

Segura is currently bleeding from his vagina about the ICE stuff going on. I get that his mom is an immigrant, but illegals got to go bro.

That's a long sentence to claim you don't care.

Joe Rogan as a podcaster is the absolute definition of "I'm just letting the other person talk."

Got a liberal on? Anything goes.
Conservative? Anything goes.
Guy who claims that we're all descended from a race of psychic moon people? Anything goes.
Astrophysicist the very next episode? Anything goes.

Is he entertaining? Sure.

Does he actually do much? Not really.

I wish I had thought of first, if I'm being honest. Easiest job out there.

That's exactly why he's the most successful. It's a waste of time listening to interviews w/ hosts who think they need to dominate and control all the conversation, and don't let guests finish their thoughts. Joe's great at "playing dumb," whether he's playing or not, and getting guests to explain their thoughts.

Even if he has someone on that I think is crazy or full of shite, it's way more entertaining to watch them on his show than anywhere else, because he'll ask them to explain what they mean instead of letting them get away with dropping names or buzzwords and then jumping to another subject.
