Guess what happened to one of NOPD’s latest recruits?

If you had arrested by ICE for being in the country illegally you are today’s grand prize winner! Refuse to link the article, but NOPD hired someone who is not even a citizen of this country and you are telling me these people don’t vote in our elections? Get the frick outta here!

The Police Chief claims they check all of this crap. The guy had a valid drivers license, Social Security number, etc. But, of course, they don’t fricking check for citizenship or immigration status.
ICE should check the immigration status of every NOPD employee. They should also go through every employee for the City of New Orleans.

So you are telling me, that to work as an engineer for an oil and gas company, I went through a much more stringent background check at my last 3 employers than he did to carry a weapon as part of his daily routine?

Nopd is trash. A good friend of mine tried to join after he got out of the Marines.
Dude had a few (expunged) incidents when he was younger.
Keep in mind. He held a top secret clearance at that time.
Nopd said he'll no and ran him away 3 times. He did however get on in Dallas, and is doing just fine

They did until over half of their PD retired, moved to JP, or ran away from the sinking ship..... Now there are NOPD cars garaged and commuting from all surrounding parishes.
Apparently the Federally mandated I-9 forms are optional in NOLA for certain classes of people.
