It sounds like the internal investigation concluded that they could have handled the situation better.
It will be interesting to see what the state investigation turns up

Two border officers fired their guns during the fatal encounter that killed Alex Pretti in Minnesota, according to a copy of the internal investigation obtained by USA TODAY.
The probe by the Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Professional Responsibility notes that the agency members began firing after an agent yelled "he’s got a gun" multiple times. The report from the Department of Homeland Security does not say the bullets from both agency members hit Pretti.

That article doesn't say they were fired?

Wait a minute,Powerman can't read. This says 2 officers fired their weapons, not that they WERE fired

If 2 different LEOs shot, wouldn't that almost be proof that there was an immediate threat with that guy?
Posted on 1/27/26 at 6:55 pm to Powerman
That's not what the fricking article says

Border Patrol agents always get screwed in these things. See Ramos and Compean.

Let him cook. The article says fired like 5 times. We don't care about the meaning of words.

Yeah I totally misread that

Why so anxious to appeal to authority?
If you ever argued Kyle Rittenhouse was a hero, you’ll have to tip toe real hard to explain why Pretti should be dead.
For the record, both are fricking morons.
But me disagreeing with someone or thinking they’re ill-advised doesn’t mean I think they deserve to die.

Groundbreaking stuff, bud. Good job.

You may want to edit your post. The article does not state that the agents have been fired.

This post is a very good insight to the mind of a Marxist. Although they may be "educated" they still cant read

We'll see.
Shooting the guy another 5 times when he is on the ground and disarmed might be difficult to justify

Nobody is saying he "deserved" to die and I don't think anyone wanted him to die
The unfortunate analysis is that the guy made multiple horrific choices that led to him being shot and losing his life.
Perhaps it is a benefit to democratic platforms but ultimately these federal employ are trying to do their job and cannot because of the actions of these people
