YouTube Link
Not sure if its been edited, but I do know the original video I saw, at the very least, did have Pretti reaching behind himself at waist band level (after being disarmed/after agents yelled that he was armed) fractions of a second before he was shot (that reach behind him clearly caused the shooting).
Magazine or not, he did reach. If he did draw the magazine, its even more open/shut.

When he heard "gun, gun, gun" some part of his brain knew he was milliseconds from being shot.
He had one last chance and that was to go completely limp with palms up and hope for the best. Instead he reached back.

Really wish the downvoters would let their disagreements be known. I don't know how you can defend this.
It's sad the dude reached behind himself after the agents already shouted that he had a gun, but he was responsible for his own death.
He could have stayed at home.
But even if he really wanted to go, he didn't have to go armed.
But even if he really wanted to go and be armed he could have stayed at a safe distance.
But even if he really wanted to go and be armed and be in the thick of it, he didn't have to get phyiscal with the officers.
But even if he really wanted to go, be armed, be in the thick of it, and get physical with officers, he could have complied immediately once they wanted to detain/arrest him.
But even if he really wanted to go, be armed, be in the thick of it, fight law enforcement, resist arrest, he didn't have to reach into his waistband after they knew he was armed.
Lots of checkpoints he blew past.
He was speed running a death by cop attempt and got a pretty high score.

I think the part of disagreement from many people is the encounter should have never happened in the first place
He wasn't interfering with an arrest
He was trying to protect a woman they attacked

Agents are out there willy nilly "attacking women"?
I still haven't seen footage, but do enlighten me...
... who was this woman? What was she doing? In what manner was she "attacked"?

Clearly you've never experienced a Glam Doll Donut. Saint Alex was only there to purchase a dozen glazed for his coworkers in the ICU. The gun was only to prevent anyone from cutting in line.

Both he and the person of unspecified gender were blocking traffic (see the white vehicle that was stopped in the road).
If progressive areas would arrest people who block traffic, you'd see less of this behavior going on and the feds wouldn't have to shove the person of unspecified gender.

Show me what both he and she were doing before the officers started pepper spraying them. That's what I want to see. They didn't just pepper spray them for fun.

The way it went down in the video it hard to see what attempts were made to direct or command him to do anything.that he could respond to......when he got between the woman an the BP agent he was immediately blasted twice in the face with chemical irritant. At that point he was probably fricked up, couldnt see, breath and in a panic state. He was then immediately brought down and tackled by 6 agents and shot seconds later.
Yea he fricked up engaging with law enforcement in that situation while armed but this wasn't a calm methodical arrest with an officer giving specific commands and him.having an opportunity to respond but refused

Personally, I would have taken great joy in doing that.

If you haven't seen any of the footage you should definitely not bother participating in this discussion

The disproportionality you reference along with the chaos and then, ultimately, what appears to be a shooting caused by LEO frickups, is what makes this terrible for normal people to digest.
I understand why so many supporting the federal side of things are making up untruths to make the decedent look so much worse.

Or... you could tell me how agents attacked women.
